swirvenirvin 25 Posted June 23, 2013 There are 6 armies going against each other, of course people are going to die. There are also 25+ main characters, a few of them should die more often. I think 1 died in season 2? The starks all deserve to die they are morons except Abya or whatever he name is Snow is an idiot () who won't have sex or kill a girl. The eldest daughter should have killed Joffrey long time ago Idiot wife let jamie go Idiot oldest son makes arrangement for marriage to get troops and bridge access then marries some other chick Youngest kid who can't walk meh Younger one meh Then the cool youngest girl If anyone of them die in season 3 besides the criple and Abya or whatever then meh Keep watching. And for God's sake, don't read this thread 'til you're caught up. ]Nailed it on Robb and his mom, dumbasses both deserved to die Have the last episode left still. Was fun watching 3 seasons in a week

mobb_deep 920 Posted July 4, 2013 So, I just finished Season 2 last night. Here are my preliminary findings. Hottest hooker = Ros (red headed curvy one) Hottest non hooker = Talisa (Rob Starks wife) Favorite characters = Tyrion, Cersei, Arya Least favorite characters = Joffrey Favorite storyline = anything involving the Lannisters Least favorite storyline = Targaryen and the dragons. Also find myself a bit disinterested when the knights watch guys are wandering around in the snow. Looks like that's about to pick up now though, with those zombies coming to the wall at the S2 finale. Overall opinion... I really enjoy the show, but wish it had a little more action. It sort of like a soap opera for nerds. I had a hard time keeping up with who was who, how they were related, etc. I'm just now starting to figure out the relationships between the families and their history. I really like all of the hot girls and their boobies. I also love how the show gives the viewer some really uncomfortable moments. The scene with troops trying to rape Sansa was really f'ing hard to watch. Same with the scene with the burnt boys (who we believed were Starks youngest at the time). All in all, it's a pretty riveting show. Hoping Season 3 has a little more action and hopefully the death of Joffrey!

Quickolas1 80 Posted July 10, 2013 Rereading A Feast for Crows right now. It's much better the second time through. I feel like I've forgotten half the things that happened in 4/5. Will have to re-read at some point. and try to figure out what happened with Pate in the prologue of book 4...who is killed for a key...and then "Pate" greets Sam in the last chapter
Electric Mayhem 35 Posted July 10, 2013 I'm about 1/3 of the way through A Dance with Dragons. Once I knock this one out I'm going to start watching Season 1 while I wait for The Winds of Winter to be released. The only problem I have is that (as mentioned) there are so many characters and storylines to keep track of, especially when he won't mention somone for a long time and then casually slip them in to someone else's chapter. Gah. Quikolas's 'spoiler' above for instance. I just read that bit about a week ago and didn't even realize who it was until 10 seconds ago reading that. now I have to go back and re-read a bit. Damn. It is pretty awesome though. The good thing about having so many strong characters is that even when a 'big' one gets offed, there are plenty more to keep your interest, and the ripples of the 'big' deaths are felt througout Westeros and beyond. Also really pleased with the development of Daenerys story. She's such a badass! John Snow story is still boring though. That red headed chick is super annoying too. Stalker status! Got 2 more episodes to go! He enjoys torturing people. He's Roose Bolton's bastard... and if you were paying attention, Bolton's house sigil is the flayed man. He's a sadistic little fock, that's why. I see. Makes sense now! And no, I didn't notice the house sigil. To be honest, I still have a really hard time with who is who, and how they're related. phillybear 366 Posted October 10, 2013 What, no episode recaps that dwarf the 1500 page books? You're losing your fastball old man. Call me Nolan Ryan. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=421824&hl=%2Bgame+%2Bthrones Much like when I recently careened through the Walking Dead episodes, I’m curious to see if I’m seeing things as most of y’all, who’ve had years to discuss the show at length. It’s not the easiest thing to digest at a rapid pace, so some of the minor characters are harder to place in the overall picture and I’ve missed tidbits. No chance that I would read the books, much like I’m avoiding the Walking Dead comics. So, I’ve barreled through the 3 seasons of Lord of the Pacific Rim Dragons vs Zombie Aliens in about 3 weeks. It’s certainly dense plot wise with a thousand different characters, most of which are very believable because I’ve never seen them in anything else other than Littlefinger who was the upstart mayor in The Wire. It’s certainly not a colossal emo borefest like the Lord of the Ring movies, so that’s good. In fact, what is there not to like? Lots of nekkid broads, lots of scheming, lots of violence, lots of nekkid broads, lots of family sex, lots of t!ts. Some random thoughts on major characters, and I’ll return to toss in some thoughts on the minor characters thus far. The Lannisters The dwarf seems to be the breakout character on the show, and I like the little guy for the most part, as they scramble to make him likeable. The problem is that whenever a woman is kissing him, it’s like she is trying to stick her tongue inside a Jack O’Lantern. What a weird head. It amuses me the way he sh!ts on Joffrey. King Joffrey is a sociopath, which I can respect. Putting those crossbow arrows into the ‘tute was pretty cool. He certainly was cast well as he very much looks like a sickly product of the union of his mother and uncle. Now, I get really annoyed by Queen Eyebrows. Cersei has one constant expression: smirking. Between her distracting eyebrows which the Rock is envious of and the constant smirk, I can’t tell if her character is attractive. It is funny how she thinks she is smart but is actually a dope. Jaime’s story arc is crap. He throws a kid through a window to kill him, he’s focking his sister, he kills soldiers while a prisoner, and now that he is handless and has shown kindness to Andrea The Giant, we’re supposed to be on board. Bullsh!t. He’s a pussie that is going to eventually stick it into the Jolly Blond Giant. Tywin reminds me of Lance Henriksen, and plays his bad ass character very well, especially when he puts his fire plug son in his place. I like him, so he’ll probably die soon. The Starks Well, there were two recognizable starts in this show from the start, Sean Bean and Mark Addy, and both were dead very quickly, which I found to be odd. Ned Stark was a guy that had a certain set of rule that he followed, which is admirable until you realize the rules were pretty stupid in the first place. He turned his back on his lifelong principles and legitimized Joffrey’s claim to the throne. Yeah, I was happy when he died after that. His daughter Sansa is a spoiled rotten kid that deserves everything bad happening to her because she did not sh!t on Joffrey during the Butcher Boy incident. She doesn’t look 14 at all. Arya is kind of a cool character and I suspect she will eventually reclaim Winterfell and be a key cog down the road. Now that I’ve said that, she will probably die in the first episode of Season 4. She really needs to do something about her way to wide open eyes, as when you look at her, you expect the sounds to come out of her mouth to be Ribbit, Ribbit. Robb Stark was mostly milquetoast and there was nothing remarkable about his role. Catelyn Starke generally annoyed me with all her selfish actions, such as releasing Jaime Lannister. But when Robb started to act nice to her after the treason, it was clear that bad things were about to happen due to the resolving of outstanding issues. Talisa Stark had an odd attractiveness about her, but she almost got her brother killed and decided to leave her family to pursue noble deeds. Fock that. I’m glad she died too. Bran has X-Men powers and can teleport and see visions in dream. That’s cool and all, but why the fock are you going north of The Wall when it’s full of zombies. Dumb and crippled. Not a good combo. Ho-dor. Jon Snow..you know, they did this whole story arc with the Night Watch, and banging the hot Wilding girl, but during his last fight scene, there was only one Wilding dude left, along with his lady and a wolf helping Jon. The odds are heavily in your favor, like Anderson Silva getting ready to fight Verne Troyer. He risked his life on the Wall climb to save Ygritte. So, what does he do? He jumps on a horse and scrams, leaving the girl to probably die. That made zero sense. I’m glad the broad shot him full of arrows and hopefully the coward is dead. The Baratheons Despite the last names of the characters, there really aren’t many actual Baratheons, oddly enough. The drunken king Robert got killed by a boar. Eh, whatever. It set everything else in motion. Stannis is a self declared king under the spell of a Scarlet Witch, which I’m sure had nothing to do with adding Scarlet Witch to the next Avengers movies. The characters is boring, but a necessary threat to the Lannisters. The red head seems iffy. They really need her to have some rather emotionally evil moments, not just spitting out a baby smoke monster from her fish bucket. Gendry is a bastage, but he Tyrells The grandmother is feisty, in a good way. The queen to be Margaery is social climber and not likeable and not to be trusted by anyone. She is trying to manipulate Joffrey, the public, everybody around her. Her brother the h0m0 has the personality of a dead frog. Targaryens Daenerys, the mother of dragons. Well, her union with Drogo didn’t make any sense, but they killed him off early, so good. It’s remarkable the slow build they’ve done with the character throughout the entire show. Slowly building up her confidence and her power and her protectors. Dragons definitely help too. How can she possibly not claim the Iron Throne soon? Her brother was a clown, and got a hot golden crown. I liked the originality. Eh, good of a place to stop as any. To be continued with other random thoughts on the other characters and plot devices. CantTouchThis 23 Posted October 11, 2013 This Boardwalk is really good, I just think the fact that the whole prohibition era mob thing has been done many times before makes it lose a lot of it's appeal. It is actually pretty original, it does get really slow at times though. The production values are through the roof. However, GOT is an another level. My only complaint is the writing isn't quite top knotch, it's a level or two below BB, and it gets quite convoluted, for non-book readers at least. I like convoluted to an extent though, because you will gain a better and better understanding when rewatching.

I would probably rank it higher than the Sopranos in my book. I agree to a certain extent about GOT... although I don't think it has anything to do with the writing as a whole- just too many characters for people to keep track of. Other than that, I think the writing as been fanatical. Then again, I'm also a book reader... and only time will tell if GRRM is able to go back and wrap up all his loose ends.
