Cruzer 1,996 Posted August 2, 2011 Tournament officials are already bending over backwards to appease Woods. Outside of maybe KSB they gifted Tiger with the most possible comfortable pairing he could have for the first two days of this WGC event - long time friend Darren Clarke. Outside of maybe KSB they gifted Tiger with the most possible comfortable pairing he could have for the first two days of this WGC event - long time friend Darren Clarke. Or could it be they paired Tiger with the last person to win a major? See, this is what I'm talking about. Folks take every and any little thing (like a golf pairing) and try to decipher it and spin it someway to shed a negative light on Tiger. Now officials are "bending over backwards" over a freaking golf pairing. Please.

He hasn't played competitve golf in a while so that's pretty crazy. And yes I realize that a portion of handicapping is to play to the public perception as much as how you (the capper) thinks they will fair. But still, no way Tiger has a shot to win this tournament. It's too soon. I have a feeling he picked this tournamnet first as he's guranteed 4 days of PGA tournament golf as more for practice. This tournament is his pre-season game. The regualar season is the PGA Championship.

Now officials are "bending over backwards" over a freaking golf pairing. Please. Why would Tiger be paired with the last guy to win a major? Or is it standard for the 23rd ranked player to be paired with the last major winner? Unsure. Obviously they wanted to pair him with someone that wouldn't cause discomfort. Duh. The PGA has done this with him more than once.

The regualar season is the PGA Championship. I'm still taking him this week. I don't think you will ever see Tiger at 20-1 again. Especially if he starts playing good. He's won on this course 7 times and by all accounts I've read he's hitting it pretty good in practice. Will he win this week? Probably not. But I feel more comfortable taking him then any of these other dudes.
Cruzer 1,996 Posted August 2, 2011 Or could it be they paired Tiger with the last person to win a major? Or it could be Professor Plum, with the lead pipe, in the conservatory...... Ha, come on - Tiger's last win was in '09, his last major in '08. There have been 13 different major winners since that triumph at Torrey Pines, how bout any one of those (obviously more relevant) major winners instead of Tiger with Clarke? It's also insane to think (had Scott) won the Open instead of Clarke that Tiger would be paired with him the first two days here. See, this is what I'm talking about. Folks take every and any little thing (like a golf pairing) and try to decipher it and spin it someway to shed a negative light on Tiger.
