Don't Re-Nig in 2012

Recommended Posts

This is real simple folks.

There are ingnorant, racist, sexist, hateful people in the world. There are rednecks, thugs, uppity closet racists, black power racists, all kinds. For as many different colors of people in the country, you'll find a group that doesn't like somebody based on skin color. Everybody knows this. Duh.

The very basis of that mindset is said person looks at the negative aspects of said race and applies only that negative to the whole (group). Instead of simply looking at each indiviual for who they are and not making a sweeping claim based on what color they are or what group they can be associated too.

So why not simply call out the individuals who are racist? Why not look at the actions of the person in question and leave it at that? You won't do that because you yourself like to sterotype too. When it works for you. When it gives you a way to discredit a group of people you disagree with or don't like for some reason. You're really no different.

Bottom line fact is, only one party inserts race/racism into every issue.

Who's the racists again ?

In this thread, the people producing and buying "Don't Re-Nig" bumper stickers appear to be the racists. At FFT, you're the racist in most threads about racism.

Have you seen this woman's site? They say they're not pro-Republican or pro-Democrat, yet nearly every bumper sticker under the "Political Stickas" section is anti-democrat or anti-Obama. The "Don't Re-Nig" sticker was her third bestseller out of what looks to be about a hundred bumper stickers of all kinds. Who's buying these blatantly racist stickers? Democrats?

You can't label a whole group as racist because of this, that's true, but the folks who bought that sticker are racist, and they aren't Democrats.

I hate to break it to your pea brain, but there are people in this world that dislike others simply because of the color of their skin.

Interesting that you just did the very thing I said I found funny.

My father joined the Army in the early sixties. He wanted to be a policeman so he became an MP. His first assignment as an MP was to guard four black kids who wanted to attend the University of Alabama. They were the first to ever do so. The MP's were armed and they guarded them in three eight hour shifts. They guarded them everywhere they went, on and off campus because some people wanted to kill them because of the color of their skin.

On the first day of class my father was one of eight who guarded them as they went into their first class. The black students were spit on and called every name in the book. My father was also spit on and called "n*gger lover" and a few other choice words that some white folks like to use. This went on for the entire semester. They considered one semester a tour of duty for the MP's and they reassigned them after each semester. My father said the experience changed everyone involved and by the end of the semester, he had made four black friends. You may have read about it but I have a feeling you know about some of the story from watching Forrest Gump.

It's an expeience that changed his life. It made him realize how important the civil rights movement was and he taught me to be nonjudemental of anyone until you get to know them. He also said if he ever heard the N-word come out of my mouth he'd throw me through a fawking wall.

I bet if you didn't know any of the story I just told you, you'd call my father a racist if you heard him tell an off color joke. And that's the point. People like you love to throw that word around and have no real understanding of what it means.

Wow, that's a great story.

Pointless to the subject since your father isn't the one selling racist bumperstickers and trying to convince people he's not racist by saying he has lots of black friends. Pointless also since you didn't hear me say that people who sometimes tell offcolor jokes are racist. Just like KSB didn't hear me say all Republicans are racist. You can keep trying to put words in my mouth to justify whatever it is your trying to justify, but it's probably easier just to read the little black letters on the screen to find out what I'm actually saying.

But kudos to him, anyways.

i haven't used the word racist in this thread.

i think the bumper sticker is extremely offensive (even though i had to give a slight chuckle at it for it's creativity).

my uncle is a super conservative and he's black and he always tells me not to mix up the republican party's ideals with it's some of it's members.

i can't seem to do that.

I was replying to your point that racist people you know like to tell their accusers (you) that they have black friends. The point of my story was simple. Not all people are racist even though you believe they are. It doesn't suprise me that you didn't understand the point and you then accuse me of putting words into your mouth. When that's all you got, that's all you got.

i can't seem to do that.

There is a big difference between fiscal conservatism and social conservatism.... I have no use for social conservatism as it isn't really 'conservative' principles, it is theocratic.

Modern conservatism is basically libertarianism. The republican party has hijacked conservatism and twisted it...

Peoples ideas nowadays are so fractured that i believe very few people fall into on bucket or another...most take from multiple buckets and have a spectrum of beliefs, which is why it is so unfortuante that the fringe has hijacked both the republican and democratic parties...

You had no discernible point, but whatever. The woman selling a bumper sticker saying "Don't Re-Nig" in reference to our black president is a racist, whether you want to admit it or not. She then went on to express her appreciation for black people when questioned about it. Someone who is not racist wouldn't try to prove it by declaring how much they love black people.

I don't know what kind of focked up definition of racism you subscribe too, but it's pretty clear to me in this particular instance.

Although, I hate bumper stickers, the message is good.

Also, if I use "Nig" will that offend white liberals? I think so. :music_guitarred:

Is she a racist or a stoopid far right loon who tried to make a political statement? Was she ever a manager at Popeyes? I don't know. I have never met her or been to her site. I'lll wait to judge her as I do most when it comes to race. You should do the same but it doesn't fit your MO.

And people who get questioned about their posistion on race have to prove by declaration of where they stand on race because morons like you have no understanding of the words and there meanings when it comes to racial issues. What are their options? There are none by your standards. Once a racist in your book, always a racist. You are the fool in this conversation and it's fawking sad that so many have fallen into your way of thinking.

What is your definition of a racist? Serious question.

You're an idiot. Referring to a black person as a "Nig" is racist.

There's no "racial issue" here. It's one person judging another in a negative way due to the color of their skin.

Just STFU already, jackass.

You didn't answer my question Frank. So I'll ask again.....What's a "racist" in your own inteligent opinion? You seem to be obsessed with skin color. I hope you have more than that.

So because of your father's life experiences, he told you if you ever used the N word he would throw you through a focking wall.

But you don't think that a bumper sticker calling the POTUS the N word is racist? Because maybe it was just a joke and the woman who made the stickers and all the people that put them on their cars might have black friends?

I don't get it. :dunno:

I used my fathers experience to try and prove a simple point. Sorry that you, like most don't understand the point I was trying to make. The racist moniker is given these days to many who don't deserve it. Does she? I don't know her. Do you? The most racist bumper sticker I ever saw was on the back of a pickup truck that read "If I Had Known This Was Going To Happen We Would Have Picked Our Own Damn Cotton". It was on the back of a black mans pick up truck. I'm sure he had black friends as you do.

I don't care about who the so-called racist associate with. Just don't label them all in one group. You can't judge a book by it's cover.

You don't need a GED to become a purchasing agent for sn electrical supply house. The only requirement is having slow enough brain activity that sitting in a cubicle all day filling out purchase orders doesn't drive you insane.

How about spending your life at a message board posting anti Obama crap day & night. Talk about slow brain activity and insanity.

So your point is that we shouldn't label people racist if they put a bumper sticker on their cars that has the N word in it because we don't know them personally and how many black friends they have? Mmmmmkay.

The only thing I can think of as to where Bunny was coming from-and I had to make a few very large blindfolded leaps to connect it- is that something can be funny and racist at the same time. Haven't we all laughed at the occasional racist/stereotypical joke? But it doesn't mean we're bad people or racists does it?

I don't really think it fits the situation here, because I highly doubt those bumper stickers were meant to be funny, but who the hell knows with how focking stupid people are these days.

I can see that. But in his effort to make his point, he told a story about his father, who after all of his life experiences during the Civil Rights movement, realized how offensive and derogatory that word is towards black people. So that's where the joke portion of the argument breaks down. And it's not even funny if you take your PC hat off. It's not like a rabbi, a priest, and a black guy walk into a bar type of thing. It's just offensive and I have a hard time believing the person that made these things and the people buying them are THAT dumb that they aren't aware of that. :dunno:
