***Official Presidential Debate thread - Part II****

Recommended Posts

On behalf of hoytdwow, donnahs, Newbie and a few others, I'm going to be the first to say that Obama absolutely crushed Romney in this debate. He was more forceful, he called Romney out immediately on all of his obvious lies and he made up all the ground he lost in the first debate, and more. This election is now over, Romney's only chance is if Obama gets hit by a bus and nobody wants to vote for Biden.

On behalf of RP, Little Rusty, drobeski, gocolts, budbro and others, I'm going to go ahead and call this debate a slam dunk victory for Romney. He continued his aggressive ways, he was very personable in the town hall format and he won over all of the independent, undecided voters. The election is now over and Romney has pulled so far ahead that the only way Obama can win is if he brings Bin Laden back to life and kills him with his bare hands.

Then there are MDC, IGotWorms, KBS and jerryskids and a couple of others. These are a few of the rare posters that will watch the debate and actually call it as it looks to them. These will really be the only comments worth reading in this thread.

True, I'm as anti-Romtard as they come, but I'm no Obummer partisan, either. HTH

I know, I actually had trouble thinking of any "call em as i see em" liberals on the board. These two were the best I could do. :dunno:

If you can come up with others that would be better, please list them and I will make the appropriate adjustments.

Hack city

I went with the closest ones I could think of. Again, feel free to offer better suggestions.

Also, I notice you didn't argue the fact that you're a right wing hack, spinning all of the facts in Romney's favor. Interesting.

It's funny BB06 can't come up with any reasonable libs. Oh, and you can take my name off your list. Your analysis of my debate posts are way off.

I said Romney won the first debate on facts, policy, and a plan for the future. That is the consensus opinion of most who watched.

I never claimed anyone kicked the others ass in the VP debate. My view was that Biden acted like an escaped mental patient. That was pretty much the consensus there as well.

I didn't base my list off of the first debate thread; more from a pattern of past posts. I honestly can't remember a thread where you said something negative about repulicans. I'm sure one exists, and feel free to provide a link if you like, but I dont' recall it. :dunno:

And I think that everyone agrees that Biden came off looking more than a little unhinged.

I hope Obama sticks up for himself tonight. No more of this namby pamby sh!t. If Romney comes out attacking on Benghazi, for example, Obama needs to call him out for trying to politicize the ambassador's death. It's simply unbecoming for a man who would be president and commander in chief.

It's simply unbecoming for a man who would be is president and commander in chief to allow an American Ambassador to be murdered under those circumstances on the anniversary of 9/11.

You should finish your sentences. :music_guitarred:

It's 2012. Crying about Bush doesn't win threads, Corky.

Neither does crying about Obummer's failure to protect 4 people across the globe on the anniversary of your Messiah's greatest colossal failure.

Yeah, I love how Republicans are crying about intelligence failures on this incident. There's proof that the bush administration was warned before 9/11 and did nothing. And then there's the supposed "intelligence failures" regarding WMDs in Iraq, which resulted in a war causing the deaths of thousands of American soldiers and trillions of dollars wasted. Oh, but Republicans want to cry about one tragic, but relatively minor isolated incident. It's focking beyond ridiculous.

That said, I don't think this is the tack Obama should take. Instead he should point out that Romney is trying to use the ambassador's death for political gain. How can the American people trust a man who would undermine America's interest in presented a united front abroad in the face of a terrorist attack, just for his own personal political gain? Is such a man really fit to be commander in chief? Let Romney answer that one.

I agree, it looks petty. By the same token this is nothing new, the cycle has been in motion for a while. The liberals were all up in arms over the failed intel over WMD's, and rightfully so, yet this vigor was mindfully absent when questions arose about when and what Clinton's administration knew about Ramzi Yousef's Bojinka plot. Clinton was warned in '95 plans were in place to fly planes into US institutions, outside of allowing Otta and his crew to enter the country and train in flight schools - he did nothing. And here we find outselves again - it never seems to stop.

Worms seems really askeered that in a debate on foreign policy Romney might have the audacity to discuss the latest foreign policy debacle by Obama.

He would rather have America stick our collective fingers in our ears and go "Lalalalalalala" and hope it goes away.

Um, IF THAT'S true......shouldn't you have done something about that over the last 4 years, Obama?

Looks even to an Obama edge right now. I think Romney hurt himself a little by going a little over aggresive but we will see

ETA It does seem like a 1 1/2 on 1 debate though In Barry's favor

No it's not. Romney is killing him, if you listen to the content of what they're saying. I am still shocked that Obama is President but I guess I shouldn't be because he's good at fooling more than 50% of American voters.

Obama's doing much much better. Has some really good attacks on Mitt.

Romney nailed the "Are you the same as Bush" question though. I think that was an important one to get right because that's a big fear of independent voters.

Also, Mitt needs to stop whining about time to talk.

Town hall meetings are great in their purest form. The only problem is that in it's purest form, there is no moderator.

Partisan or not, no focking reason for one. At least not one that re-directs questions.

Acreed on both points.

Then again Obama doesn't have altitude sickness this time
