ZeroTolerance 584 Posted January 20, 2013 If the Falcons miss the Super Bowl, at least they don't have to suffer the humiliation of Dunta Robinson getting arrested for propositioning a hooker.
tikigods 76 Posted January 20, 2013 Wow. SF was JOBBED on that call.
mobb_deep 920 Posted January 20, 2013 Absolutely bonkers how stupid these refs are. That was just brutal.
Old School 360 Posted January 20, 2013 So CBS has a ref expert. On call- just to announce every call is a good call?
GreenTD 56 Posted January 20, 2013 Ball hits the ground & moves while the receiver is sliding & the ball is repositioned to the other hand.... How is that a catch!?!?
tikigods 76 Posted January 20, 2013 ATL may get one, last gasping chance at this. Harbaughowl?
Reality 3,121 Posted January 20, 2013 Boom, back in the Bowl b!tches!!
GreenTD 56 Posted January 20, 2013 So Tony Gonzalez doesn't get a ring, but atleast Randy Moss has a chance to finally get his! Hopefully it's against the Pats as well.
Old School 360 Posted January 20, 2013 9ers moving on to the SB. That was a big come back today!
WhiteWonder 2,751 Posted January 20, 2013 oof, Roddy was mauled before that pass got there. Falcons got jobbed on that one.
edjr 6,603 Posted January 20, 2013 oof, Roddy was mauled before that pass got there. Falcons got jobbed on that one. Yeah, sure they did. Like that "catch" by Douglas? Mmhmmm

tanatastic 2,062 Posted January 20, 2013 The call/no call was fine, the falcs lost this one by themselves fair and square. 2 turnovers hurt but if they score on that last drive it's over, with that bum Akers kicking. Good game and good win for the niners.
prisoners 2 Posted January 20, 2013 oof, Roddy was mauled before that pass got there. Falcons got jobbed on that one. The pass was too short anyway, not enough for the 1st down.

PackYourNut 47 Posted January 20, 2013 The pass was too short anyway, not enough for the 1st down. It was pass interference... which is an automatic first down! And he was clearly mauling him while the ball was in the air. Regardless, Atlanta gave this game away with stupid turnovers and penalties!
kutulu 1,680 Posted January 20, 2013 Is Atlanta trying to lose this game? Yep
ralphster 274 Posted January 20, 2013 Disappointing loss. After the Bears went down I was hoping the Falcons would win.

Regardless, Atlanta gave this game away with stupid turnovers and penalties! My point was even if he caught it he didn't have enough for the 1st unless he broke three tackles. Ryan should've thrown it to someone else or the intended target (was it Gonzalez? Forgot already) should've ran deeper.
Old School 360 Posted January 21, 2013 So- what is the report on Ryan's left shoulder? Looks like it was causing a lot of pain after he was ridden into the turf.
DocNiner 70 Posted January 21, 2013 Hats off to the Falcons. Good game & we had to work hard to win it. You can't let 2 pro-bowlers(Jones & White) just run free routes. They needed to smack them at the line. That's the one thing I hated about this game was the Niners play on White & Jones. They nearly did us in. Well, whoever we face ain't gonna have the caliber of Atlanta's top 3 I should say in White,Jones & Gonzo though both N.E. & Balt have good WR's we still need to smack them in the mouth off the line and disrupt their routes. We do that the offense should be able to make plays. I'm just glad we have the opportunity to win a 6th superbowl ring and join the Steelers as the only 2 teams with 6. Oh and I also think the 49ers are gonna score more than 30 points in the superbowl even if it's the 2 brothers, which Baltimore got us on Turkey day, now it's time to return the favor & make them look like turkeys. Although Ray Lewis' retirement party could come before the bowl. Helluva career. Glad to see Kaepernick finally find Vernon Davis today & Randy Moss. We need more of that. Gives us another dimension teams have to deal with.

But in at least one instance, a dispute between a Falcons fan and a 49ers fan turned violent. According to WSB-TV reporter Rachel Stockman, witnesses reported that a Falcons fan punched a 49er fan, who in turn pulled a knife and either cut or stabbed the Falcons fan in the neck. Details such as the exact individuals involved in the incident and the victim's condition are not yet known. The victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. e-factor 13 Posted January 21, 2013 Great to have the boys back in the super bowl after an 18 year drought. Never crossed my mind in 1994 that it would be this long until the next one. Guess we got spoiled as fans in that amazing 15 year period..........

Generally if a home fan of a losing team punches a visiting fan, I'd consider him a chicken shiot sore loser who started a fight because he presumes he has the backing of most of the surrounding people. Sounds like he picked the wrong guy.

WhiteWonder 2,751 Posted January 21, 2013 if using the turf is clean, absolutely. honestly i was only half watching but when i saw it in real time i thought it was a catch and then the 1 replay i saw, looked like he had his arm between the ball and the turf when his arm hit and it popped up into his gut and he secured it with his other arm as he rolled. either way, that play has nothing to do with the non PI call. Jesus, the ball slid on the turf. The ground isn't supposed to help you control the ball. I understand the ref on the field not seeing it, but that's what replay is for. Why even bother if such an obvious call isn't overturned? Also, it wasn't PI on the pass to White. Defensive player has a right to gain position. Good no call.
