Is it time to drop Vick?

I have Kaep on bye and wondering if i should just add Locker or Alex Smith and be done with Vick.

Thoughts?

Not unless you have better options. The guy was top 5 before injury. You can react with emotions, but I'm planning to win some money and I think he gives me a better chance to do that than some scrub off the wire.

Do we even have a timetable for his return? I heard he was getting an MRI and no results have been released that I'm aware of. It's not like waivers will be open for a couple more days.

Guy offered me flacco and colston for Vick and harvin... Yes I am that desperate in a league with no qbs on the wire...

I'm dropping him for Terrell Pryor tomorrow. Foles is available too, but eff him for screwing me the last time I started him.

Same boat, trying to pick up Pryor for Vick. Have RGIII so it's just depth/matchup based. But I can't waste the space on Vick anymore. :wall:

As an Eagles fan, I doubt Vick plays another snap with the Eagles.

Agreed. If Foles is able, he's the starter. Right now Barkley is #2 (both literally and figuratively). If Vick is out another 3-4 weeks, barring injury to the other two, there's no reason to put Vick on the field again.

Personally, I think he'll be such a distraction if/when he feels that he's healthy, you could see a TO situation where he's simply removed from the team.

The only scenario I could see where Vick gets back on the field is where the Eagles maybe beat Oakland with Foles, lose to Green Bay, beat Washington; but Foles looks below average or gets hurt again. Dallas loses 2 of their next 3 (vs Vikings, at Saints, at Giants). So the Eagles are sitting only 1 game back still after their bye. I could see them putting Vick back out there IF he is 100% healthy. But that is a lot of IF's. I wouldn't predict the Eagles win ANY of these next 3 games.

Yes, but it drafted romo and grabbed rivers off ww. So all depends on your situation and needs.

I picked up Foles and McCown this week and now have Vick on the bench. Someone just dropped Alex Smith and I'm thinking of adding him but would need to drop one of the three QB's. Not much out there in a 14 team league and I'm thinking of dropping Vick and grabbing Smith. Any thoughts? Specifically from Philadelphia homes... on whether Vick should be kept.

He got dropped in my league 2 weeks after the guy traded for him. I guess he has no value anymore considering the other options available as FAs

10 team league and yeah I dropped him. Not sure I would in a 12 teamer. Had half the team hurt or on bye's and can't trust his BS hammy to get me negative points again

I dropped him in a 12 teamer this week for Jake Locker. I won't look back either. Vick is a multi-week injury now because he tried to come back too soon. Hamstrings usually must heal completely and those athletes that try to come back too soon usually pay the full price for doing so.. Re-injury usually creates a chronic condition which means long term rest to complete healing is the only solution. It would not surprise me if Vick is either out or comp[letely ineffective the rest of the year. If he does try to play, you are advised to wait and see him play one game and then practice in full the following week before you can play him with confidence.

Definitely not worth wasting a roster spot on this year, IMO.

What if your qb situation is Vick, Ryan(is white returns could be ok) and there aren't many good plug and play qbs on ww. Do I hold on in case he makes a late run? Loaded at every other position, dropped Rivers before j jones got hurt which has killed my team. Bottom line is he not coming back soon, despite his mediocre play? Or is Foles the starter going forward?

i'm doing everything i can to hold on to vick in the leagues i have him. obviously banking on a running qb with a bum hamstring isn't a good idea, but his upside weeks 13-16 is high enough that he's totally worth a bench spot in my opinion. i'm thinking about playoff time: on my teams with a stud qb, i like having vick there in case of injury. on my teams with a mess of mid-level talent at qb, he may well be the best play some weeks if he manages to get back on the field.

basically comes down to upside... i feel like vick still has a lot more of that than whatever flavor of the week replacement-level waiver pickup he would be replaced with. if your roster is so stacked that you can't afford to carry 3 QBs and need a bye replacement, i certainly understand dropping him.

Like 4 years ago ... do I need to bump it? I was posting about Foles when he was still in college. I predicted, "This will be the best QB to ever come out of Arizona. His NFL career will surpass Jake Plummer." and lot's of ppl were confused ... didn't Jake go to Arizona State?

And I said ... by the best QB out of Arizona. I mean the entire state ... not the University. You can include NAU if you want. He will be the best QB out of Arizona ... ever.

Period.

Did I graduate from the University of Arizona and am I a total Wildcat homer? Yes ... yes, I am. But the very first time I saw Foles throw the ball ... I turned to my father and said, "Holly shiat did you see that arm? That kid is going to the NFL." and I have never said that about a University of Arizona Wildcat QB. Ever.

That helps a coach a lot ... when you got a tall guy with real good vision downfield and a rocket arm ... and oh yeah, he also played in pro style offense under Mike Stoops in college. Pac 12.

Yeah ... Vick is done. If you had Vick and not Foles .... you weren't listening. The good news is you can still get Foles cheap.

I was saying the same thing to the Arizona Cardinals in the off season. Get Foles while he is cheap. Nobody listens.

Carson friggin Palmer ... is not a former 2 time MVP Superbowl QB .... ok? Carson Palmer is a stop gap. As much as I love Foles, a real Arizona homey ... there have been so many really talented AZ Wildcats ... but this kid is off the charts:

This Carey kid ... he runs like a horse. Never seen anything like it. He is shattering school records. He's an amazing player, on an amazingly bad team.

ETA: Arizona colors are red and blue ... red are home ... I think ... whatever ... don;t be confused, it's the same player for the same team just home and away uniforms. Drastic difference ... I know. It's college.

Dropped Vick and picked up Locker. I also have Eli Manning. It's been a tough year.

Get Foles, if you need a QB if you can. He's a lot better than people know and did well in college, even with a hurt Gronk and a limited supporting cast. Javon Criner.

Still did well.

Please, please stop feeding the animals.

Back to Vick. I jettisoned him in favor of Pryor @ QB. I have RGIII but am not sold on him or his consistency. That's the drawback of the mobile QB, never a sure thing.

As a pretty big Eagles fan, I'm pretty confident that he won't play again for the Eagles this year. He won't be here next year, and by the time he is healthy enough to play (3+ weeks minimum), it would be foolish for the Eagles to put him back out there. They need to see what they have in Foles and/or Barkley.
