*** Thursday night -- Browns vs. Bengals ***

Recommended Posts

Can the Browns trade Manziel to the Bengals at halftime?

I don't know what gurus you guys have been listening to, but West has never outplayed Crowell (the better back).

Critical observation: the Bengal cheerleaders look as bad as Daltons timing tonight.

Is Dalton against the wind this half ?

Doesn't appear to matter. He slept through the installs.

Yeah, both quarters. I think the issue is that Dalton struggles throwing into air.

TNF hasn't gone my way all year. i'm going to whine. I've face lynch week 1 when he had a huge game, eli manning when he threw for 5 tds, hillton when he had 200+ and a a couple tds, vereen when he put up 30 points...and yet when I start a player that should have a nice game...hill....they do nothing.

I feel slightly bad for the announcers having to make up sh!t to talk about for this game.

Outside Leftwich, Vince Young, Sanchez and Tebow I don't think I've seen an NFL QB miss as many throws as Dalton.

Somehow, I knew Cleveland would run the ball well, West would get the start (and do a good job with his carries) and I'd still get screwed. West was apparently so tired after taking the first four carries of the game that he needed to get pulled on Tate's TD run. He begins the Browns' second TD drive and then it is Crowell's time (I guess?) At this rate, Cleveland is going to run the ball 48 times and no one is going to be overly productive.

I've said this before and I'll say it 100 times more. When a coach tells us he's going to go with the "hot hand" in the backfield, he's basically admitting to me that he cannot evaluate the position and has no idea who his best running back is. Linebackers do many of the same things as running backs (find the hole, avoid "trash" and initiate contact), but no one ever talks about the hot hand at that position. Coaches talk about wanting their backs not to rush things or "hit the home run", yet playing games with their playing time only encourage them to maximize every run and try to hit the big run.

As far as the Browns' backfield tonight, I have no idea how a back can get going or how a coach can evaluate their performance with the shuttling that went on in the first half. :wall:

Both quarters that'd be a tornado as they switch after the 1st

Really? Sarcasm... catch it.

Also Hill is back in so apparently he isn't dead and the Bengals' experiment with the unknown slow white guy is hopefully over. Also also, QB sneak with Dalton was an epic phayle. Might as well go for it. I'd call for a pass over Green's head.

Damn. I've used CLE DST last 3 weeks but dropped them for DEN this week. :(

OK, so far it appears West is the first-down back about 60 percent of the time. Crowell comes in on the next play and stays on for third down even though he struggles more at blocking and receiving than West and Tate. I have no idea what Tate's gig is supposed to be tonight.

Personally, I don't care if they go with Crowell or West, but by playing all three, Cleveland isn't being fair to its own players.

Crowell close to a fumble...so if Pettine follows the head-coaching handbook, he doesn't play again until Week 13 or beyond.

Wow so West wont see any GL carries at all? I'm checking in late. He fumbled early and now he screwed himself out of any chance at GL work?

West didn't fumble until his score, which wasn't ruled a fumble. So to be clear, now every Browns RB is an option at the goal line. This RB usage is so damn confusing.
