NFL: 11 of 12 Pat's balls under inflated.

Recommended Posts

It doesn't matter that Tom Brady likes his balls a certain way. All QB's do. The crux of the "cheating" is that they were tampered with AFTER the balls were submitted to be approved by the NFL / Refs and an hour or two before kickoff. It'd be hard for Tom and Co. to fool everyone into thinking they didn't know altering the balls AFTER they were approved was illegal. That's just plain ole common sense.

Link?

I guess I could find a link but every story I've seen is that the 12 balls were approved by the refs (passed inspection), then given back to the teams. All this happens like a hour or two before kickoff.

Then at halftime, they re-inspected the balls and 11 of the 12 of the same balls failed as they were deflated. 0 of the Colts balls failed at halftime, so it wasn't due to conditions or whatnot.

I'm not a rocket scientist but that tells me they were deflated sometime between when they were given back to the team after the pregame inspection and halftime. :dunno:

You are dealing with Worms here........he never jumps to conclusions............unless he can play the race card doing so.

So Brady just denies everything.

So who deflated 11 of the 12 balls after they were approved and before kickoff? It wasn't due to the conditions or atmospheric as all 12 of the Colts balls passed inspection at thalftime.

Are we to believe it was some rogue ball boy? Is this some conspiracy theory that a Colts spy actually snuck over to their sideline and deflated the balls as a set up?

He said (paraphrasing), "I gave them the balls before the game like I always do. What happened after that with the balls, I have no idea. I was focusing on playing a football game, not walking around with a gauge. That is the refs job. My job is to throw the ball to Gronk"

Old news

What if Brady says he likes the balls a certain way and had them made to his liking, BEFORE they went to the referees to be checked and that was the last he knew of them being touched before the snap? Thus blaming Walt Coleman and crew?

Wouldn't it be great if there were even half the concern for the Constitution being obeyed and being enforced as the NFL rule book?

Well you're wrong.

First off everything I've seen says the refs *should* check the balls, not that they actually did. And in fact there is some suggestion that they sometimes do not check the balls.

Second, there could be other ways the balls become deflated. So unless those other possibiliti are ruled out (haven't seen that yet) you can't jump straight to "the Pats' ball boys tampered with them at Brady/Belichick's direction".

Is Tom Brady saying he gave them to the refs credible enough for you?

For now. yes.

lets play pay attention to the super bowl and get it over with and then we get to the troof.

Rodgers admitting he wants them to get by the refs good enough for you ?

So you're saying if Brady gave the refs the balls before the game, as he is supposed to do, and they did not inspect them, as they are supposed to do, then that makes Brady a cheater?

That would be a minor gaming of the system at worst imo.

And it sounds like a lot of QBs do it.

If that's all your sobbing about then man the fock up, Sally

I am sure that the refs have a log of them checking the balls before the game with pressure. They can match those with the logs from halftime and after the game. Easy.

This all stems from that focking pussay sore loser Haubaugh, looked like a complete fool with the whining about the eligible reciever rule... Had to try to make up for it.. What a sad pathetic coach and organization the ravens are.

Lose with dignity.

Is it at all possible that the patriots are actually really innocent "this time" :dunno:

I mean, I'm just spitting in the wind here, but...

Yup. I've lost a LOT of respect for them. They always played us tough and often won, and I respected them for it. I had no idea they were such sore losers.

I also haven't seen where the Colts' balls were inspected at halftime. Is that true?

I don't know just going by stuff I read. Things change and this appears to be fluid but :dunno:

League sources have confirmed that the footballs were properly inspected and approved by referee Walt Anderson 2 hours and 15 minutes before kickoff, before they were returned to each team.

ESPN Sports Radio 810 in Kansas City reported that the Patriots' footballs were tested at the half, reinflated at that time when they were found to be low, then put back in play for the second half, and then tested again after the game. The report did not reveal the results of the test following the game. All of the balls the Colts used met standards, according to the report.

Or what if Col. Nathan R. Jessup aka Belicheat, had the log in the log book erased?

Where did you see the refs didn't inspect them?

Ah, I see KSB posting that they were inspected....so we can stop with all the rest of your speculation.

Like the Indians sending a man into the false ceiling to confiscate the corked bat from the umpire's office? Who was the Pats' Jason Grimsley?

I'd like a little more confirmation then that throwaway line. Did they fully inspect them? Did that include weighing the balls?

Why would they. Colt's brought it to the officials that NE balls seemed under-inflated. NE didn't make any allegation against Colts. Nice try.

Remember what Tom said after the Ravens game?

“Who knows. Maybe those guys gotta study the rule book and figure it out,” Brady said. “We obviously knew what we were doing and we made some pretty important plays. It was a real good weapon for us. Maybe we’ll have something in store next week.”

He's almost giddy about unleashing the usual Patriot trickery on the Colts.

I have an idea on how the Patriots do this. They make sure that a guage that reads high is used to check them. Refs check, see 12.5 on the guage and approve them. The guage reads 1.5 high, and they are actually 11. Just a possiblity, who knows.

Because maybe something caused all the balls to lose inflation?

now we wait to hear from Walt Coleman.

if he says he didn't check, then it's over.

if he says he did, then we have a good little war and some year long suspensions forthwith, after the super bowl

Hopefully BB slipped him a million under the table to say he didn't

Aaron Rodgers has said he tries to sneak it by the refs, obviously it works at least some of the time
