Weird conflict of emotions.....wife and I found out she's pregnant. Go to see the ultrasound waaaaayyy early because she's an OBGYN and we can.....find out it's twins. Yay right?

 

Go back a few days later and one isn't developing, but does have a tiny heartbeat....but is a week behind and will most likely lose that one...other is doing great.

 

Terribly conflicted....so happy we will be having a child, but hard seeing a little heartbeat knowing next time we do an ultrasound it'll be gone. We were getting excited at the idea of twins...now just one. I suppose once it's here we won't feel that way...but right now it's a weird feeling.

We've probably discussed this in the past but I don't remember, so... why do you think it is inappropriate for you to date someone while you are raising your son? I think it would be a good model for him to see that you can move on after the experience you had with your first wife.

 

I presume part of it is something you said recently; that he basically spends no time away from you. Does he ever sleep over at a friend's house, or just go somewhere without you for a few hours?

colts- it ok for you to date. it is healthy for you and your son. you need a life outside the cocoon that you have created (even if it is only 5%). it would be good modelling for him in developing/maintaining relationships, individuation, him getting comfortable with himself when he is not around you, developing other interests and autonomy. just don't go marrying the first one who lets you touch her cooter.

It seems odd to me, but I other than school/sports teams, I've never been on a bus. Never had to take a bus to get to work or home; I always had a car. I guess I've been lucky to never have to take public transportation, even if my car was a piece of shite at times.
