Have you ever read the book? They touch on that in the book.

Lecter? Hes a borderline good guy, not even close to most evil. He ate those who were rude etc. hes supposed to be the guy you root for in the series.

You guys saying Lecter have the right movie, wrong character. Buffalo Bill was the second guy who came to mind. The first was Chirgurh. BB was more just an unstable guy than evil, perhaps, but he thought people were just pieces of meat essentially. Plus he has Precious, so maybe I have the wrong character, but I think Hannibal is not evil per se, just really, really sophisticated and complex.

Also Ramsay Snow and the Smoke Monster.

Actually, just Ramsay Snow, I think he is on another level than all the others.

You don't always root for the star of the movie when there are other fine options to choose from. For example, in this case you, despite the brilliant Academy Award winning acting of Anthony Hopkins, most normal people would be rooting for Jodie Foster's character, Clairese.

I didn't think Clairese and Hannibal were in conflict. :dunno:

They had a mutually beneficial relationship but I don't understand why I am having to explain this.

Just saying I didn't see Hannibal as the villain of the movie. I thought BB was the villain. Hell, the psychiatric hospital director was a much bigger d1ck. I couldn't wait for him to die.

The first time I saw that movie, I didn't recognize the old friend getting off the plane at the end but, despite this, the line still registered a good impact.

It's pretty much a flawless movie, easily among the single best of the past 25-30 years.
