KSB2424 3,148 Posted July 30, 2015 Really...what has he fawked up... I'm so glad you asked. Roger Goodell is the Anti-Christ. His pompous and arrogant behavior makes Donald Trump look like little orphan Annie. He wants to be the Judge, the Jury and the Executioner all while making it up as he goes along. He is a whooore to the whims and winds of what the fake outrage crowd happens to want that day. He sticks his thumb in the social media air, and rules accordingly. Earth Worms , dare I say even IGotWorms has more of a backbone than this clown. Roger thinks he is the smartest guy in the room and it will bite him one day. He makes a rule, then immediately ignores the rule. He has set wild and crazy precedents that will follow him to his ultimate demise. The NFL is a football league, it is not some world moral authority. As my Mama says, "He's gotten to big for his britches". He doesn't follow normal business nor criminal guidelines as it pertains to checks and balances and being an impartial leader. He holds grudges and is simply a disgrace to leadership in any form. Pete Rozell had it right. Here are some of his quotes from the late 70's and early 80's when he brought the NFL to prominence to where Roger is doing nothing but riding coattails. Rather than saying that the commissioner is hired by the owners and therefore is subservient to them, you have to look at whether or not the players are getting a fair shake. Squabbling in public will eventually ruin football; there's no doubt it's hurting us already. My role is to run the NFL, not be a moralist, not to set social standards. Roger Goodell and his 'make it up as we go' leadership style will bite him in the ass soon enough. And I cannot wait to bask in the glory.
Sho Nuff 720 Posted July 30, 2015 Not based on an editorial. On growing opinion. And not just my own, but plenty of others as well. He's not well liked by many. I think there are some nervous fans out there that hope their team doesn't have a scandal under this commissioner. And there will be plenty more scandals to come. It's the nature of the beast. The league is making a ton of money. It's popular. But all of these scandals are tarnishing it's image in my opinion. And Goodell is not handling ANY of them well. There's a scandal around every corner. I think the league has a black eye from all of it. I think the owners are starting to look bad because of Goodell. What's the first thing you think of when you hear Roger Goodell? I don't think there is that much opinion on him being canned except from butthurt fans of teams like Patriots and Saints right now. The owners love him...the ones who actually hire and pay him. And Im still waiting for you to name all these things he supposed fawked up...since he did it to every aspect of the league. Goodell...I think of a commish who takes the heat for the owners. Don't think that much of him good or bad. If he gets canned...it would not surprise me...the owners will find another puppet to do their bidding and people like you will find something to complain about with the new guy too. BunnysBastatrds 2,460 Posted July 30, 2015 So the league is starting to look bad because of Goodell? And not because of teams offering bounties to injure opposing players? Or teams cheating? LOLOL Listen to yourself. You sound ridiculous. The league is starting to look bad because of all the negative attention it's getting. It's handling just about every scandal and problem in a court of public opinion, not in house. I'm certain there are owners who would rather some of these problems that can be handled quietly, be done quitely. Goodell see's it differently. Our business is everybody's business. He's hammering the Pats because they obviously didn't get the message the first time they were caught cheating. His job isn't an enviable one. NewbieJr 541 Posted July 30, 2015 man, the headlines that could be made if the NFL leaked this... Women beating should be handled by the law. Because it's illegal. And the fact that it was thought out in a way where it was snuck into a bathroom after the officials checked the apt pressure, takes it to a whole different level. Plus the fact that it was done by the most crooked organization in all of sports, is why this is so severe.

When your MVP Super Bowl winning QB doesn't have his coach on the sidelines and in the locker room, the year is shot. We also lost two second round picks. Our team was in their prime. DankNuggs 305 Posted July 30, 2015 Right, so he destroyed the phone. And maybe they wanted texts to other Patriot employees, like the head coach and the owner? I think what's going on here is a cover up, but it's not like you think. We only know what the NFL told us. The way this has played out, especially with Wells' insistance that Brady is guilty, and Kraft backing down so fast after he grandstanded at the super bowl about apologies and all that, there is more here than meets the eye, and I would wager it's not good for the Patriots.Believe Belicheck gave up his phone. BunnysBastatrds 2,460 Posted July 30, 2015 let me ask you a question. Were you at all pissed off at your team? At your coaches? I understand homerism. I really do. But are yiu totally fine with what the saints did? And why such hatred toward the punisher and none towards the scumbags trying injure other players? Despite the media outcry, an independent study speculated that Saints' players may have pretended to participate off the field but not put the tactics into action on the field. "If the Saints tended to injure more players, then teams that played them would tend to list more injuries the following week. To test whether the Saints injured more players than a typical team, one need only compare the number of players added to injury reports after a Saints game to the league-wide average. Did the New Orleans Saints injure more players? The data-driven answer is a resounding "no." The Saints appear to have injured far fewer players over the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons. The numbers are striking." Steve Young went on ESPN and said that any player who was hurt during a Saints game from 2009-2011would have a case against them and should sue them. You know how many did? Zero. You know why? It didn't happen. Jonathan Vilma went before a federal judge and testified that it didn't happen, under oath, knowing he would go to jail if he perjured himself. He denied all of it. The judge threw out his suspension. And last time I checked, Vilma is working for the NFL Channel. If Payton would have ordered players to intentionally hurt other players that could end their careers or season and their was proof, I wouldn't want him as my coach. I played football. I played 100% from the first tick of the clock till the last. I hit you as hard as I fawking could. But I never went after a knee or a head. I respected the guy I was hitting even though I hated him for four quarters.
parrot 789 Posted July 30, 2015 [wormsedjrdankparrot] Belichick's superior coaching [wormsedjrdanparrot] Certain teams place a premium on ball security. I'm sorry if you don't understand that. It was really neat how that guy's "statistical analysis" had the "Patriots" and the "Rest of the league". This is so you can never compare apples to apples unless you want to do you own legwork. I already pointed out that during the portion of Sharp's self-selected timeline where you can match up Peyton's Colts with Brady's Patriots, the Colts were better both in total fumbles and per play percentage. In 6 years with the Colts, and almost 1300 touches, Joseph Addai fumbled 7 times. In 5 years with the Colts, and almost 650 touches, Donald Brown fumbled twice. TWICE. Oh and by the way, the QB with the best fumble rate from 2007-2014? Peyton Manning. So somehow, even thought what the Patriots did was "impossible" the Colts actually improved on it while they were together.
