edjr 6,608 Posted July 28, 2015 That's what I'm saying. The fact that he cheated id what it is. Goes with the team's reputation. But the way he threatened to sue, and was whining and acting like he was the victim.....just sickening. Threatened? couldn't it still happen?

NewbieJr 541 Posted July 28, 2015 Threatened? couldn't it still happen? He certainly still has a right to. If he wants to continue to be embarrassed. Every step he's taken has been a bigger hit on his reputation and character. I'm pretty sure he's done now.

Franknbeans 46 Posted July 28, 2015 Stephen A. Smith said something to this effect earlier today that there was language from the Spygate ruling that suggested if they got caught cheating again, specifically Belichick, there would have been a ban. Supposedly, that's what led Kraft to back down in Frisco.

Franknbeans 46 Posted July 28, 2015 It's funny all the callers are whining that the actual infraction (deflating the balls) is what we should be focusing on. Bwaaahaaa. Tom could have nipped this in the bud waayyyyyy back when. What an ass.
Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted July 28, 2015 Did anyone really think that the guy that handed down the original suspension was going to overturn his own ruling? Goodell had to keep the suspension as-is or he would have undermined everything that Wells did. He has done this in the past and it is a great strategy. Be hard on the crimes and if it gets overturned by someone else, he can at least say that it was not his fault. Brady will sue and we will see what happens from there. The issue with a suit is that, in reality, he can only challenge the appeal process and not the facts of the case. That could be a good thing or a bad thing for him. The good is that he does not have to be deposed on the facts of what he did and did not do. The bad is that he cannot really prove his innocence either.

Cruzer 1,995 Posted July 28, 2015 It didn't matter what happened here, your opinion wouldn't have changed. I'm one of those 'benefit of a doubt' people. I never bought the Ideal Gas Law bs - but I certainly would have been open to knowing more. Brady's antics only help solidify the suspicion that he lied. And if he lied, then.... And Brady is NOT suing. Not after the revelation that he destroyed evidence.

NewbieJr 541 Posted July 28, 2015 I like me the balls on the low end...that is all I told our guys. Likely gets out with a fine. This. So that he doesn't look like he's throwing them under the bus, he could have worded it that hew puts a lot of pressure on his guys to make sure that everything is just right. And that they might have misinterpreted when he said how he wanted the balls to be low on air. He should have said he takes full responsibility and places no blame on anyone else. Done and done. Small team fine and Brady keeps a bit of credibility.

Cruzer 1,995 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm a little confused what right the NFL had to Tom Brady's phone? Could someone explain that one please? TIA I don't know if they felt they had a "right" to his phone... But if I'm Tom Brady and I'm accused of cheating and my ass is on the line - and I can exonerate myself, my reputation and my organization by simply handing it over? They have it day 1. Instead, Brady opted to withhold, then destroy it.

tanatastic 2,062 Posted July 28, 2015 Great here comes the whining and court dates even tho thats a silly concept. Can you sue for assault when another player tackles you? No. You cant do nfl related stuff in an outside court, thats just nonsense. Handle it with the unions and stuff. Now I just worry that master of mind games Belicheat will instruct Tom to tank the whole season. Kind of a "Well here you go nfl, enjoy NOT having Tom Brady in the playoffs." kind of thing. Just like "lets run up the score-gate" and "lets not throw to Moss to run him out of town-gate.".

He doesn't need to... he can prove the NFL had no process to monitor the supposed rules he broke to possibly confirm or deny any wrongdoing... Has no precendent for punishment, and the punishment put forth is draconian. Not to mention the initial suspension was by Troy Vincent who has no CBA authority to hand down any punishment. Goddell knows the public relations hit he takes for reducing the suspension, makes him look like an idiot... So let it get overturned in court and he can still claim he stuck to his guns and his warped view of integrity...
