Magnificent Bastard 192 Posted January 10, 2016 Tony Dungie was asked: was giving Peterson the ball 23 times for 46 yards the right offensive philosophy? He responded Yes... Are you focking jacking me off? 2 yards per carry and 9 total points was the right philosophy?? Todays game is set up to have a high production passing offense. Why wouldnt they try for more interference calls? Norv Turner is a jackass and a joke. Watch the Vikes bring back Peterson for an absurd amount of money next year. I am so happy they lost. Tony Dungy spent his whole coaching career not being involved in the offense. I don't know why Patrick asked him.
Magnificent Bastard 192 Posted January 10, 2016 I guess we can now put to rest that a cold weather stadium is a great home field advantage. Green Bay has lost their share at home too.
ZeroTolerance 584 Posted January 10, 2016 I guess we can now put to rest that a cold weather stadium is a great home field advantage. Green Bay has lost their share at home too. Minnesota had what arguably is a much superior team beat save for an epic FG choke. I don't see how this game made an argument for weather not being effective.
Vikings4ever 569 Posted January 10, 2016 This is a Seattle team that destroyed the Vikings the last time around. A team that was the consensus "nobody wants to face them". Â The fact that the Vikings were within a blown FG from knocking them out says that the gameplan was (generally) correct and that the field was a big advantage.
uwmalcolm 77 Posted January 10, 2016 My deepest sympathies go out to Vikings fans. That was a shitty way to lose...and then be frozen.

I don't see how this game made an argument for weather not being effective. It was a factor. If the Vikings holder wasn't wearing gloves he would have gotten the hold right. The Vikings were the home team, and they were at a disadvantage as well.
GobbleDog 1,012 Posted January 10, 2016 Adrian Peterson's fumble gave Seattle the lead. After the game he said he's gonna take it out on his kid.
IMMensaMind 462 Posted January 10, 2016 Ugh. Now if GB wins they head to ARI. Â Night night either way.

weepaws 3,389 Posted January 10, 2016 For a team that had no shot of winning the game and someone was even taking bets the the Vikings would not score they sure did get close .
jerryskids 7,162 Posted January 10, 2016 I disagree on the laces. It was sub-zero; they probably decided to just focus on catching and putting the ball down instead of getting fancy.

Locke actually spun the ball into the position where the laces were facing exactly the wrong way.

Frozenbeernuts 2,417 Posted January 10, 2016 Because it was -10? Think you're barking up the wrong tree here How many points did they score? 9. Yeah that was a horrible offensive game plan.
IGotWorms 4,063 Posted January 11, 2016 How many points did they score? 9. Yeah that was a horrible offensive game plan. Would've been 12 - enough to win the game, against a superior opponent. Â Nobody was scoring a lot of points in those circumstances. Not the 1999 Rams, not the 2007 Patriots, and sure as sh1t not the 2015 Vikings

IGotWorms 4,063 Posted January 11, 2016 2007 Giants put up 23 in those conditions. Wow, 23 points??! Must've been a shootout
Magnificent Bastard 192 Posted January 11, 2016 Wow, 23 points??! Must've been a shootout  The average score of an NFL game is around 45. That game had 43. And it was extremely cold. So in summation, your point that even great offenses can't put up points in those conditions is rendered invalid. You're welcome.
FeelingMN 273 Posted January 11, 2016 How many points did they score? 9. Yeah that was a horrible offensive game plan. The game plan should never involve more Teddy. The passing game isn't the strength of the Vikes....their running game is, and AD is the focus of the offense. It's the way it's been all year. Â The gameplan put the Vikings in a position to win. They didn't execute. Pretty simple really.
giraldi02 476 Posted January 11, 2016 97.777778% of the active roster performed. Â Â Walsh did not. When it counted. For a kicker, that's all that counts.

So the game you're pointing to had a pretty good offense perform average at best. Â And from that you're suggesting that Minnesota, not a particularly good offense and a downright awful passing offense, should've been able to scored a lot more points through the air? Â Holy logic fail
Sho Nuff 720 Posted January 11, 2016 That and Seattle D is >>>>> better than Green Bay's D that year.

The offense still shouldnt have been so stoic that they could only score a maximum of 12 points had Walsh not missed the FG. Norv gets verbally jerked off by the announcers for a few good plays, so he should also get the blame for a horse shlt game plan. Seattle is very good against the run. If the Vikings could have mustered a TD they would have won. Oh and AP being their strength, he also has a knack for fumbling in key spots. 23 carried, 46 yards, 1 horrible fumble. He is so overrated when we talk about real NFL value.
