wiffleball 4,790 Posted October 3, 2016 Dude, is this how you spent your Sunday? I went to a bar and watched football. Won both my fantasy games; in fact won high point bonuses for both leagues. I'm glad you spent your Sunday pondering politics but guess what? We're ###### either way. Did you win so much that you're sick of winning?
5-Points 3,565 Posted October 3, 2016 Really? I'm pretty sure you're wrong on this. First off nobody really supports Hillary, they just know trump can't be president. And it seems like everyone is more than willing to admit her faults. She's untrustworthy. She's too secretive. She isn't likable. The email thing was very bad. The stuff about the Clinton foundation and the state department is fishy. About the only thing I've seen people defend her on is Benghaaaazi!! because that was always a ridiculously stupid "controversy" Wow. First off, nobody really supports Trump. They just know Hillary shouldn't be president. And it seems like everyone is more than willing to overlook her faults because she's "qualified" in their eyes. Any chance the other side feels the same? ETA: like it or not, Benghaaaazi was an issue. It was totally avoidable and should not have happened. You can admit it. What difference, at this point, does it make?

wiffleball 4,790 Posted October 3, 2016 Great. The guy that worked for Enron is guiding us through this. Wait a tick - I haven't worked for Enron for 15 years. And you only 'found' this bored last December. So that would mean you'd have to be a chickenshiit alia - Ah, heck, I can't do it - it's like pretending water isn't wet. So...more deflecting. But if we are talking about say8 g Bush was at faukt for Iraq when idiots on the roght here were blaming thngs on Obama that were initiated by Bush, that is quite a bit different than this...not that I expect you all to ever comprehend that. Clearly there's an anti Trump movement here that doesn't apply to Hitlery. And that's fine. If you think Trump is worse don't be afraid to say so. What you won't find is me supporting either side. Sho Nuff 720 Posted October 3, 2016 At least they had a choice. So did the other side...I voted Bernie. Nobody at the poll tried stopping me or talking me out of it. People saying he was not really having a shot or not getting support from the DNC didn't affect my vote or ability to vote for him. I had the same choice... But you keep trying. 3mil + more people voted for Hillary than Bernie. Was she favored by her party? Most certainly. Was anyone forced to vote for her over him? Nope. Or he's not nearly as rich as he's said but I don't think you could necessarily glean that from a tax return
penultimatestraw 473 Posted October 3, 2016 I still don't get this? If Trump is following the Tax laws set in place by politicians like Hillary, then what's the issue? Every smart CEO, businessman, accountant, etc etc with try and find every loophole to pay less. Nobody voluntarily says "well, I didn't pay enough, let me cut the government a check". Or "no Mr. Tax accountant don't let me use the laws in my favor to pay less". Who in their right mind doesn't try to find every possible way to pay as little as possible. Lawfully of course. If he's breaking the law, then go after him, if not, then non issue. You can follow the law and still not go out of your way to exploit it. "Smart" businesspeople don't necessarily utilize every tax loophole at the expense of their employees, shareholders and consumers of their product/service. IMO people who maximize gaming the system are more likely to fudge a little, even if it means breaking the rules - it's one of the few slippery slopes I believe in. I see it all the time in medicine, where doctors order tests of marginal utility, which beget additional tests/procedures purely for their financial gain. Yet it isn't illegal as far as the letter of the law.
Hardcore troubadour 15,489 Posted October 3, 2016 Best case scenario: Trump has a stroke, Wikileaks does in Hillary, and the two VP's get bumped up as the candidates. I think we all agree that's what everyone wants. And I don't know much about either, just that Pence looks like a stiff and Kaine looks like a goofy bastard. Let the speculation begin. One other thought: tax fraud/evasion? If he released his returns he would get found out? You'd think the IRS would have found it but then they don't have information about each and every one of his business dealings. Other people do and if they saw the tax returns maybe they'd provide the missing info
