jerryskids 6,827 Posted October 7, 2016 That should be illegal. Influencing an election with threat of firing. Seems wrong to me. It is illegal, if true. That being said, in my last job I was at a leadership level that was strongly encouraged to contribute to a company PAC. We didn't have to do so of course... If I give you an advantage legally you would be an idiot not to take the advantage if you are running a business. Buffet and Bezos get the same treatment. They pay nothing in Federal taxes yet nobody is really attacking them. It's the epitome of a biased double standard. Buffet ok. Trump bad. It's super retarded. Get your super retarded cape on if Trump paying no Federal tax is bad.

Old School 360 Posted September 28, 2020 Anyone who thinks Trump does his own taxes is severely soft in the head. If your tax accountant prepares your return and takes advantage of every tax break available, they have done their job. If the tax laws are cocked up, don’t blame the tax filers, blame the lawmakers.

This is what I’ve been saying. Do they REALLY think Trump is the one doing his taxes? No. He’s hired accountants skilled at getting the best possible results possible. Just like we hire people to do our taxes for us

If he loses he owes $100M. Intelligencer 5 Takewaways Quote The IRS is auditing a $72.9 million tax refund Because of the suspect ways he has reduced his tax responsibility, the Times reports that Trump is currently subject to an Internal Revenue Service audit of a $72.9 million tax refund. According to the investigation, Trump claimed a total loss from one of his disastrous casinos, despite getting a 5 percent stake in the company that emerged from the bankruptcy. Since federal law dictates that investors can only claim such a loss if they get nothing in return, the whole tax refund — which largely canceled out the $95 million in federal income taxes he did pay over the last 18 years — could be in jeopardy: In 2011, the IRS began an audit reviewing the legitimacy of the refund. Almost a decade later, the case remains unresolved, for unknown reasons, and could ultimately end up in federal court, where it could become a matter of public record. Some 'consulting' payments he made to his daughter also don't look like they aren't above board either.

Hawkeye21 2,400 Posted September 28, 2020 If he didn't do anything illegal then it shouldn't be an issue. Taking advantage of certain things in order to avoid paying more taxes is just good business practice. There isn't a business out there that doesn't do what they can to pay less in taxes every year. We write off about $600,000 every year so we don't show as much profit and pay more in taxes.

KSB2424 3,148 Posted September 28, 2020 Which is worse? 1. Person A is in private business for 40 years, is rich, and takes advantage of tax laws to pay as little as legally required. 2. Person B has been a public servant (political office) for 40 years and has amassed a net worth of 150 million over that time. 1
