Trump probably hasn't paid income taxes in 20 years

Recommended Posts

Could be that the Donald is trying to figure out a way to get kicked out of this thing. :dunno:

Honestly, with most of the other stuff, I wouldn't be surprised. Despite the bravado, I bet he lies in bed at night thinking "Holy Fxxx", how did THIS happen?

But, since his ego is so wrapped up in his business and his wealth, I don't see him leaking something like this that shows him losing a billion dollars in one year and cratering his business.

I'm not sure Cuban is wrong that Trump has so poisoned the well that his business is tiits up within 7 years.

Right, because all tax evaders are caught. And the system is perfect.

If they aren't paying their taxes or exploiting the system, Jackson and Snipes are weasels too.

The system sucks I agree but trump has been audited for years it's not like Hes evading them

I'm sure you feel the same way about people who maximize their time on unemployment and other entitlement programs. I mean, if the system is flawed, what idiot wouldn't exploit it, right?

I hate the system in place it needs an overhaul. I have no problem with people taking full advantage of it though. Hell my doctor just told me I should be off work for 4-6 weeks. Damn straight I had her put me on disability for 6 weeks

Just FYI, the only one who says that he's been audited for years is Trump himself. When you're audited, you usually recieve some kind of clearance letter or assessment/Notice of Findings.

Not saying he's lying about that (necessarily), but it is interesting and possibly telling that neither he nor his team have provided the NOF's for any of the "every year"s that he's been allegedly audited.

He probably uses audit lightly. I have been reassessed every year since 2008. But when people ask I usually just say it's an audit cause most people don't know about reassessments

I don't know anyone who has serious money who doesn't play the tax code to their advantage. This includes both candidates for President. I just consider writing off losses to be less of a big deal than lowering your tax burden by giving money to yourself.

Pretty stoopid if one doesn't :dunno:

Nah, you DO have a duty to maximize profits as long as you do so legally.

However, it is laughable to talk about "fiduciary duty" regarding a CEO who lowered his shareholder's value stake by over 99%. That's real money from real people - retirement funds, college funds, life savings, etc.

Would that Trump was as slavish to his sacred fiduciary duty therein.

And again, people should drop the tax side and concentrate more on that. You can't run on the basis of your brilliant business acumen whilst completely rogering a company handed to him - and the shareholders to whom he does indeed hold a fiduciary duty. That kind of reckless disregard for a few hundred or even a few thousand investors can be indicative of the kind of reckless disregard he would have for 300+ million American stakeholders and the global society at large.

You make valid points, but in the amoral capitalist universe Trump is considered a good businessman. It doesn't matter how many times he was bankrupt, or how many people he exploited, as long as he ends up making money for himself. Fiduciary duty extends only as far as avoiding legal consequences for unfettered greed. The laws are imperfect, and taking advantage of loopholes is always "right" if it earns a buck.

So, as pointed out earlier, Hillary was fined and penalized by the IRS for not paying taxes. 15 years after the taxes were due. That should put to rest any talk about Trumps taxes. No matter what's there, the best that will happen is a fine and a penalty. They are both cheaters. Move on.

You're trying too hard. One released those tax statements, one didn't. Really, is it that difficult to see why it's an issue to some people?

Yes, I do. What are we going to find out that we don't already know? Assume the worst: he didn't pay his taxes. Neither did she. Is one of them able to claim some moral high ground? How? If anything, we know she's guilty of it. It's still up in the air about him.

Odd that Trumo says cutting tax rates will spur business when he's paid no income tax for years and still has his clothes manufactured in China and Mexico.

Except she did pay it, plus a fine, plus a penalty. She then released that info, knowing it wouldn't look good. Until Trump releases his, it's a win for Hillary. Once he does release his, then the issue goes away. He won't.

I still don't get this? If Trump is following the Tax laws set in place by politicians like Hillary, then what's the issue? Every smart CEO, businessman, accountant, etc etc with try and find every loophole to pay less. Nobody voluntarily says "well, I didn't pay enough, let me cut the government a check". Or "no Mr. Tax accountant don't let me use the laws in my favor to pay less". Who in their right mind doesn't try to find every possible way to pay as little as possible. Lawfully of course. If he's breaking the law, then go after him, if not, then non issue.

nobody cares about this but hillary voters. It changes nothing, and for undecided, hillarys blatant criminal transgressions far outweigh this nonsense by a mile.

You don't care about something that makes Hillary look better than Trump? You should. Trumptards should be pushing for Trump to release his tax info.

17 years later, when she knew the snooping was going to start. Sorry, zero points for that obvious CYA move.

No you don't have a fiduciary duty vis a vis your own personal tax returns. :dunno:

Its obvious many of you dont get it.

-issue...hiding something, which he clearly is

-issue...claiming yiu are for everyone not just the rich...while being the roch guy paying less as a percentage than so many Americans. Its has been laughable from the start that he was portrayed as anything other than an elite

-issue...running on the premise that he os some great business man but havig so many faikures including taking nearly a billion loss

Though, its obvious that iver and over the guy can do thingas and say things that you all would complain about non stop if it was by a dem...but you just dont care. Things that are pretty much an emd to any campaign, but the sheer volume seems to drown it a out with him.

Fock no they aren't. That b1tch should be in prison, and those dumb focks are voting for her anyway. Does that make Trump suddenly electable? Fock no, that lying focker gives even politicians a bad name.

The thread is about Trumps taxes, probably why people are talking about that here.

Fair point. But I don't think it's that simple. As I understand it, the LCO's (Loss carry-overs) were generated at the entity level and then subsequently flowed through to Trump's individual return. - Sort of like how partnership income flows through to individual partners.

But without returns, we're all left to speculate on the most likely scenario - and that would be it as far as I know.

I think it's relevant insofar as Trump is campaigning on cutting taxes for people like himself to spur growth. At least, it's a really bad look for him. Otherwise I don't care.

Since Trump's team does not seem to be denying the validity of what was released...it would lead most sane people to believe there is more to it. Otherwise they would release more info to clear this up. In not doing so, it just lends to the thought that he is hiding something even worse.

Am I the only one who remembers the bored Libs    about Bush  during Obama's entire first term?

Fockin hypocritical fucksticks.

I don't see the outrage.

Only idiots are mad that rich people take advantage of the tax system.

The whole "releasing your tax info" is for people that go to HR Block when they could use a 1040EZ. They are coincidentally the bloc of voters that decide elections. They...are dumb.

Trump was right. It's smart. The current tax system is a joke. Be mad at the system.

Really? I'm pretty sure you're wrong on this.

First off nobody really supports Hillary, they just know trump can't be president.

And it seems like everyone is more than willing to admit her faults. She's untrustworthy. She's too secretive. She isn't likable. The email thing was very bad. The stuff about the Clinton foundation and the state department is fishy.

About the only thing I've seen people defend her on is Benghaaaazi!! because that was always a ridiculously stupid "controversy"

Dude, is this how you spent your Sunday? I went to a bar and watched football. Won both my fantasy games; in fact won high point bonuses for both leagues. I'm glad you spent your Sunday pondering politics but guess what? We're either way.
