Saw Maynard at CBGB's in the late 90's. Great show.

Damnit, missed that announcement. $185 for sh*t seating. They haven't done a show up here in over a decade.

Another thread about me?

Since I am new here I'd like to know more about this? People start topics about you because you're a tool?

not enough glamour too much talent

Musical talent can be subjective.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think that TOOL is a non talented band, they just don't do it for me. :dunno:

I could go on and on as far as what I think musical talent means to me, but it would be lost on a dolt like you. (in other werds, your narrow minded pea brain couldn't fathom it)

No much of a fan

They are no Steel Panther that's for sure.

There's no denying Halen, Motley, Queensryche, etc. are super talented musicians. They just came from an era where digital recording was the new cool thing, so all of the music sounds more processed and poppy. The lyrics are obviously more light hearted and poppy too (love, sex, partying, etc.).

Then bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, RATM, Tool, etc. came around on the late 80's/early 90's. Bringing with them a revival of the classic analogue recording style, and music with more of a message (most of them recorded early albums at the same recording studio in Van Nuys, CA).

Obviously, I'd rather listen to Tool over Motley 9/10 times, but sometimes you just want to listen to Shout at the Devil instead of Eulogy. :headbanger:

Seeing them with Primus and Melvins June 24th. Can't wait.

Fantomas (Patton from Faith No More, Buzz from Melvins and Lombardo from Slayer) along with Clutch just joined the ticket. :headbanger:

Saw them here in Atlanta in 2001....or 2002.

I loved the music but couldn't see Maynard's face and the guitar player guys just stood there like mummies.

The drummer was alive and animated.

They also had acrobat type people hanging on strings.

I'd go back just for the live music, it can't be duplicated.

Thanks for letting me know they're going on tour.

Lucky you.

Looks like The Crystal Method is opening for the June 17 show at The Gorge. Interesting choice, I guess.

I saw them with Primus a year or more back with my wife who is a fan. Not a fan myself but they were still good I guess. I can still enjoy concerts of acts I'm not really into.

You got lucky on that show (assuming it was the San Diego show). They opened with their cover of No Quarter, which they only play once every 8-10 years. I've seen them like 20 times, and never heard them play that cover or Sober.
