Sessions was already under personal investigation during Bush's tenure - being investigated (among other things) for tax fraud and misappropriating Federal funs for personal use... Sessions was asked to resign, when he refused - he was terminated.

 

So if Comey keeps the investigation in to Russia open for 8 years Trump isn't allowed to fire him, no matter how incompetent he is or how many fock ups he commits? Seriously, 3 different people with knowledge of the investigation have said that there are no links between Trump and Russia. And the investigation is open about a year now. When does the President get to fire someone deserving of being fired? DId Comey being fired close the investigation? Otherwise, why does it matter? Comey was a manager. He wouldn't have been the one doing the investigating anyways.

Not long ago he was praising Comey...Spicer just last week I think said Trump had confidence in Comey (yes...the dreaded vote of confidence).

Reports that the Deputy AD threatened to quit over them using him as a reason for the firing....while other reports are that he wanted him gone last week and started telling Sessions to find a way.
