Strike 5,993 Posted May 11, 2017 He did. He did not fire Sessions (however) amidst an internal FBI investigation, investigating Clinton himself... Sessions was already under personal investigation during Bush's tenure - being investigated (among other things) for tax fraud and misappropriating Federal funs for personal use... Sessions was asked to resign, when he refused - he was terminated. So if Comey keeps the investigation in to Russia open for 8 years Trump isn't allowed to fire him, no matter how incompetent he is or how many fock ups he commits? Seriously, 3 different people with knowledge of the investigation have said that there are no links between Trump and Russia. And the investigation is open about a year now. When does the President get to fire someone deserving of being fired? DId Comey being fired close the investigation? Otherwise, why does it matter? Comey was a manager. He wouldn't have been the one doing the investigating anyways.
Filthy Fernadez 2,696 Posted May 11, 2017 you guys are all for transparency until you're not I've never said don't investigate. I want full investigations on everything AND people prosecuted. With Comey gone, maybe people will actually fear consequences of their actions.

He put it way more poignantly than most here, he was troubled by the "timing and reasoning" behind it... And he's one of your guys. I'm asking you. Someone asked a simple question - Did Clinton do the same thing? You responded that yes he did. But you didn't leave it at that. You added a bunch of commentary about how Clinton wasn't under investigation yada yada yada. Your suggestion is that that matters. So I'm asking you, based upon that commentary, if Comey keeps an investigation in to Trump open for 8 years is Trump allowed to fire him? Assuming he deserves to be fired of course. Hell, depending on the months, it may have been closer to 8 years. Be patient little one. Huh? The investigation didn't go that long. The investigation was done well before 1979 with appeals taking place after the trials in 74 and 75. Charles Colson pleaded guilty to charges concerning the Daniel Ellsberg case; in exchange, the indictment against him for covering up the activities of the Committee to Re-elect the President was dropped, as it was against Strachan. The remaining five members of the Watergate Seven indicted in March went on trial in October 1974. On January 1, 1975, all but Parkinson were found guilty. In 1976, the U.S. Court of Appeals ordered a new trial for Mardian; subsequently, all charges against him were dropped. Haldeman, Ehrlichman, and Mitchell exhausted their appeals in 1977. Ehrlichman entered prison in 1976, followed by the other two in 1977. Since Nixon and many senior officials involved in Watergate were lawyers, the scandal severely tarnished the public image of the legal profession.[80][81][82] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watergate_scandal

I think he has a list of dirty financial ties to Russia as well. I do give a rat's ass about the investigation...the arrow is just pointing very strongly towards Trump and/or his associates. titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted May 11, 2017 I agree with that but there needs to be an endgame. Also, the bolded part, so Hillary and the DNC should be investigated and face punishment for rigging the primary? I am a liberal. I want to see Russia investigated thouroghly and independently. And if it does in fact tie to trump (highly unlikely) then it's treason trial time. Should the people who rigged the primaries be investigated and charged? Absofockinglutley. If there is evidence that Hilary or Obama broke the law, by all means, punish them to the fullest extent of the law. Both sides are crooked as hell. Shady as Fock. Corrupt to the core. You guys voted to drain the swamp? Cool. Let's do it.

I know I know Trump lies, but it is pure speculation that Trump would shut it down, not to mention political suicide. When does anything not fly in the face of what the WH said? Not long ago he was praising Comey...Spicer just last week I think said Trump had confidence in Comey (yes...the dreaded vote of confidence). Reports that the Deputy AD threatened to quit over them using him as a reason for the firing....while other reports are that he wanted him gone last week and started telling Sessions to find a way. Im sure all that is fake news. Does anyone really believe he was fired because of how he handled the Hillary thing? Honestly...anyone?
