KSB2424 3,083 Posted August 24, 2017 I realize this may turn into me, talking to myself, but I don't care. I stopped playing fantasy football two years ago due to burn out, so this thread will be my football outlet. We, yes WE dammit, are going to be good. Like really good. Like 2015 good, get your bets in now. Our O-Line has been rebuilt and is special, combined with J-Stew, Run CMC and Cam running behind it it will take a special Defense to stop it. The Defense is really good too. The secondary was suspect last year, but we've remedied that in the off season. Barring injury to Cam, 13-3 in the NFC We'll see you Pat's in the Super Bowl. supermike80 1,286 Posted August 24, 2017 This can't be real I drafted that ball bag #1 overall last year. Note to self never draft a black qb

NorthernVike 2,080 Posted August 24, 2017 Trust me. Matt Kalil sucks. Your O-line will not be good with him in there.
KSB2424 3,083 Posted August 25, 2017 Its all about Cam. End of story. Yes. Which is why the revamped O-Line (not just Matt Kalil) from last year plus adding the Run CMC dimension is a game changer.
listen2me 23 1,544 Posted August 25, 2017 Panthers will finish 3rd in division. Cam is meh. I do love mccaffrey but i feel he wont be used as well as he could somewhere else. Their defense isnt very good. Secondary is god awful and in a high octane passing division.
Bier Meister 1,514 Posted August 25, 2017 i see them being very competitive for the division. CMC is a great addition. need benjamin to stay healthy..he can be beastly. hearing that they will be running cam less to protect him. we shall see.

Djgb13 2,338 Posted August 25, 2017 Its all about Cam. End of story. This. I pull for the panthers as my second team since they are closest to me and my brother is a big panthers fan. Hopefully Benjamin can rebound from last year. Cam needs to stop trying to run all the dam time and learn he has RBs for a reason. They are the ones hired to take the punishment of running it up the middle. Not you Cam.
KSB2424 3,083 Posted August 25, 2017 Didn't look too impressive when my titans were kicking their ass last week.I've watched every pre season game. Score matters.......none. Pre season I've seen first team offense and defense look great. I've seen guys who will make a difference...ball. I could not care less about the pre season scores. For instance tonight. Carolina with first team offense drives right down Broadway, scores a TD. Then stops Jacksonville. Most of the first team is pulled ob both sides of the ball an now, it's like 10-10. Who cares? there are guys who won't even make the team playing.
KSB2424 3,083 Posted August 25, 2017 Bottom line. I'm trying to give the Gamblers and the fantasy players a heads up.

listen2me 23 1,544 Posted August 25, 2017 With SF, BUF, and NO in first 3 weeks - I expect CAR and Cam and Benjamin to start nicely. Cam is underrated this year. While none great....all 3 will be improved defenses this year. Cam may get underrated if you mean fantasy wise. But real game wise? Meh. Front runner. He will have his great games. Along with stinkers. That wash out to meh. If he ends up running less then it will only make him less dangerous. Because honestly he hasn't improved leaps and bounds with accuracy over the years. McCaffrey is a nice player. But is Cam Newton really going to get the most out of him? Imagine McCaffrey on teams like NE, ATL, NO, Pitt...
tanatastic 2,061 Posted August 25, 2017 Cam is being way underrated despite being MVP a couple years ago and having numerous top 5 fantasy finishes under his belt. Last season he dipped, this season he will rise again.

Yeah Tenn is on the rise big time. They need to get Henry involved more. Demarco is efficient but I think Henry could be scary at times.

I would love to have Murray's efficiency with 1300/9; 53/377/3 I believe Murray has landed in the top 5 4 of the last 5 seasons.

Bier Meister 1,514 Posted August 25, 2017 He seemed to excel in a developing offense that should be better this year Edit: how do you consider those real football numbers merely efficient? He was moving the chains with 4.4 ypc, 293 carries, catching the ball out of the backfield while breaking in a young qb. Not bad for a 29 yr old

I just think Henry has the potential to be better and more scary for defenses to go up against. All I suggested was Henry should be more involved this year. Not sure what you are digging for here. TimmySmith 2,782 Posted August 25, 2017 Very tough division. Probably the best in football. Even with a relatively easy non division schedule, 13-3 is a stretch.

KSB2424 3,083 Posted September 8, 2017 Carolina -5.5 on the road Sunday against 49ers. It's gonna be ugly. RunCMC goes wild. Panthers defense feasts. Luke Kuechly sees Kaepernick in the crowd, jumps fence, runs up aisle and spears him. Everybody wins.

KSB2424 3,083 Posted September 13, 2017 As expected the future NFC South Division Champs cruised pass the 49ers. What we learned: 1. The defense, especially the front 7 may be the best in football. 2. Cam is still a bit rusty. Coming off shoulder surgery and only attempting a couple passes in preseason games this is expected. Should only get better as season goes along. 3. RUN CMC is going to be a large part of the offense. Week 2: Bills @ Panthers (-7) Carolina is the better team and should roll by double digits. My only concern is Bills HC Sean McDermott was the Defensive Coordinator for the Panthers the past several years so I do not like that familiarly. Panthers 26 Bills 17 #KeepPounding
Reality 2,710 Posted September 17, 2017 Extremely unimpressive 2-0, offensive issues all around. Lucky to have the weak early schedule.
KSB2424 3,083 Posted September 18, 2017 The Good: Carolina's Defense may be best in the league against both the run and the pass. Julius Peppers said after the game this is the best Defense he's ever played on. Despite media reports who are only focusing on one missed throw (granted in was a big one) Cam threw for 63% with most of the throws in the 15 to 20 yard range. He was really accurate down the field which is very promising as the season progresses. Kelvin, Devin, J-Stew and CMC all looked great. The Bad: Despite moving the ball up and down the field was held out of the Endzone. The offense moved the ball, just didn't punch it in. That will eventually bite you in the arse as it almost did Sunday. Ryan Kalil (pro bowl center) was a very late scratch which threw the o-line off imo. Must shore that up. The Ugly: Greg Olsen broke his foot. It was a non contact break, so it can't be but so bad right? I'm thinking 8 weeks then back for the stretch run. Ed Dickenson will need to step up at TE (especially blocking duties). I also look for the offense to insert Curtis Samuel a bit more into the short passing game to offset the loss a bit as well. 2 - 0 feels good.
Bier Meister 1,514 Posted September 18, 2017 They couldn't run the ball..... Stewart was 15/40; cmc was 8/10. Cam has been looking slow out there.
listen2me 23 1,544 Posted September 18, 2017 The Bills finished that game in normal Bills fashion. Bills need to tank harder. They need to be in position to draft a QB at the proper spot and not reach on one like EJ Manual. They can not put their fans through another year of this garbage. This would be a weak passing offense in 1975.

Reality 2,710 Posted September 26, 2017 First Pro Bowl Center Greg Olsen goes down. Then Pro Bowl and the rock of the offensive line Ryan Kahlil goes down, then Kelvin Benjamin. Literally two captains and three of the five most important players on offense injured. But dems da breaks. Considering this string of events I've changed my preseason prediction of 13-3 to 12-4. Onward. I think your prediction is backwards by the way, they may win 3 or 4 games.

Bier Meister 1,514 Posted September 26, 2017 those athletic type qbs have a 2 year max of great play before they are figured out. He needs to adapt. up until this year, he has been a duel threat and mostly successful. he has been complaining about the disproportion of non-call late hits on him. i think they want for him to run less. he is also nursing a shoulder injury. i am nowhere near the level of an nfl qb, but i am going through recovery for my off hand rotator cuff surgery and it sucks. it can not be helping him. i also am not sure if he has had as much support at the skill positions as he does now.
