titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted January 25, 2018 Damn. Fine pick HT. Well, I had intended to go a little deep. I like the folky side of the 70's, and R&B as well. But it isn't time yet. There is one classic rock song that I gotta have, and its still here. 5.02 - Take it Easy - The Eagles/Jackson Browne I'm selecting the Eagles version, not Browne's, but I put his name in there as he and Frey co-wrote it. Great song. Hard to believe that Jackson Browne lived in the apartment above Glen Frey. When I had an apartment I lived next to a mailman and below an Iranian Jew who smoked a ton of pot and had 3 fockin cats that ran around all night.
shotsup 832 Posted January 25, 2018 5.02 - Take it Easy - I have quite a few Eagles on my list but this is by far my favorite- I'd take this song over Hotel California Good job Titians

That whole little circle of california musicians were buddies. Browne, the Eagles guys, Joni, the CSNY guys... must have been amazing parties and conversations in Laurel Canyon back then. titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted January 25, 2018 That's what I've been saying! I love Hotel California. Especially the Live version on Hell Freezes over. Its one of my top 5 desert Island songs. But you can certainly make the argument that its not worth drafting bands like Zep and the Eagles first round, as they are so deep they have five songs of similar caliber. LOD01 198 Posted January 25, 2018 That's what I've been saying! Lot of Eagles tunes I would take over Hotel California mainly because it was run into the ground. I like it, I have it on my computer but never play it. Take It Easy in on my USB drive in my car on rotation.
vuduchile 1,945 Posted January 25, 2018 Passing on a song i feel I must have, hoping it will get back to me so that I can take this one. From one of the greatest live albums of all time, 14 minutes and 15 seconds of pure awesomeness.5.03. Do You Feel Like We Do - Peter Frampton. Another live version from Midnight Special. Anyone remember this show?
The Elevator Killer 523 Posted January 25, 2018 My boss told me that last week his wife went into a Starbucks in Clearwater and came out and said, "People from Florida are so nice. This guy named Michael paid for my coffee. He was some rocker." Later she did some research on line and it turned out to be Mick Jagger. I had no idea he was living in Clearwater now. titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted January 25, 2018 So no one is going to say what the fock Hotel California is about? I've heard a few different versions. I always thought the hotel was more or less a metaphor for the drugs and sex lifestyle. Similar to life in the fast lane, or where you gonna go in those shoes. From one of the greatest live albums of all time, 14 minutes and 15 seconds of pure awesomeness. 5.03. Do You Feel Like We Do - Peter Frampton. A steal at this point. Frampton comes alive was one of the biggest albums of the 70s. Everyone and I mean Everyone had that album. It was so big that it was in our Yearbook in 1977. Sitting in the middle of the front seat bench. No seat belts of course. He still has the vinyl. Had a bunch of his albums out playing them back in November when his mother passed. (My step dad this is). Drinks and great tunes with him and my uncle.Several from this draft and several I am waiting to still see.

vuduchile 1,945 Posted January 25, 2018 So no one is going to say what the fock Hotel California is about? I've heard a few different versions. From Henley: Written by Don Felder, Glenn Frey and Don Henley, this song is about materialism and excess. California is used as the setting, but it could relate to anywhere in America. Don Henley in the London Daily Mail November 9, 2007 said: "Some of the wilder interpretations of that song have been amazing. It was really about the excesses of American culture and certain girls we knew. But it was also about the uneasy balance between art and commerce."

The Elevator Killer 523 Posted January 25, 2018 You gotta forgive and forget that whole Sgt Peppers/Bee Gees debacle. The boy can play. He made his guitar focking talk!
