jerryskids 6,596 Posted February 11, 2018 Have some others I want...but again not sure which of the few on the list. So i will go with this...Seal taken earlier, but always liked this one a little better. 13.01 Crazy, Seal Great song. I was going to call foul because I swear my roommate played that song non-stop and I graduated in 1989, but the wiki machine says it was released in 90 and was on an album in 91. So... great song. ETA: Now what song was I thinking about.

5-Points 3,408 Posted February 11, 2018 I've always liked the song "Hot Rod Lincoln" but since this is a 90's draft and not a 50's draft, I have to go with something a little more recent. So here's the good Reverend's version of something similar, with the world's best upright base player, Jimbo Wallace. I've also raced my share of focked up fords. 13.03 Five-O Ford - The Reverend Horton Heat

5-Points 3,408 Posted February 11, 2018 I saw them 5 times opening for Black Francis (Pixies) in 93-94 Nice! The last time I saw the Rev. was at the Fillmore in SF in '07. They were headlining. I had a chance to talk to him before they went on. One of the opening acts didn't show so he was out walking around the venue. Very cool guy.

RaiderHaters Revenge 4,247 Posted February 11, 2018 gah I thought everything The The did was pre 90's Johnny Marr joined The The after having a falling out with Morissey and leaving The Smiths when the reformed in 1988 their headline song was removed cause of these lyrics "Armageddon Days Are Here (again)" but with its chorus of "Islam is rising, the Christians mobilising" and sensitivities over the Salman Rushdie affair that had recently erupted, this song was deemed unsuitable for release by Epic/CBS

Heard it in the shower this morning. This is so different than the 70s, where it seemed that by and large we were competing for the same songs. Here we've got multiple drafts going on in parallel. I listen to this song and it makes me want to jam an ice pick into my ears, yet Shots wanted it as well? I will say that there was apparently an entire music scene that I missed being a 20-something yuppie in the 90s. Not sure I enjoy it, but it has been fun learning about it. Id guess even the oldest of geeks were kids in the 70s, so our musical memories are mainly from our parents. Even the 80s, youd be 45-50, to have really experienced that decade. Im 43, and bands like GnR and Metallica were just breaking out as I was entering HS. In the 90s MTV was at its peak, file sharing was just getting started, etc. etc.

I will say that there was apparently an entire music scene that I missed being a 20-something yuppie in the 90s. Not sure I enjoy it, but it has been fun learning about it. I'm in a void. I pretty much have gotten all the songs I want, not that I wanted many, and none of them younger than 1992 until I started taking country. After getting out of the Army and returning to Detroit from Germany, I was tuned in to classic rock the entire time until I moved overseas while tuning out new music for 25 years now. What little new music I did listen to was country and so that's reflected in these later picks.
