Hilary Clinton is not a far left candidate

She sucked but she is not an extreme left candidate. She is a neocon

I have said it a few times, if Hillary ran again she would be the most center person the DNC would have running

Great point. We're so used to the far left taking over and representing the Democrats that even a Democrat of a couple years ago seems like a breath of fresh air.

whats also ironic, is you have two somewhat far right conservatives like us, actually being willing to listen to a candidate who isn't even in our party, while the tolerant left attacks him to no end

She may not have been, but she ran hard left during the campaign. Well, what far left was two years ago.

I don't even consider myself far-right. Definitely conservative, probably center-right.

I always considered myself center right, always conservative, but as they go further left I seem to go further right, never been a trumper though

I used to be pro-choice even, that was 10 years ago before my wife got pregnant, the minute that finally happened, and the joy I felt, I was instantly anti-abortion

Trump isnt really far right. Hes center right. But hes also an arsehole who refuses to go PC. Hes also is a salesman who BSs all the time too.

But if a person can black that out, not get distracted, and merely look at his policy......hes rather moderate.

Dems attack him because they are fearful that he'll split the anti-Trump vote when they should be rejoicing that he'll split the anti-Dem vote.

They don't. There are already calls to amend the Constitution so Alexandria Oscario noCortex can run for POTUS now. In fact, Michael Moore is even calling her, without question, the leader of the Democrat Party.

The Democrats are all in on going as far left as possible, history of far left regimes be damned.

Dems big issue with Schultz is that hes running as an independent.

You know what's funny about this, if the Dems wanted a better chance to win the Presidency, they should have him run against Trump.  There are a lot of people who voted for Trump and wouldn't mind voting for someone else (like me), if a socialist wasn't the other option.  If Shultz, Harris, and Trump were running, I'd vote for Trump.  If Shultz and Trump were running, I'd vote for Shultz.

It's because they're (Dems), are too far left.

Yes, I concur.

But...the reason he is doing so is that he is aware of the inclination of the Dems to sideline a candidate that does not hearken properly to the ideology. He knows that to attempt to run as a Dem is to risk them pushing him aside because of his moderate stances.

I don’t think that’s true.

On immigration, tax policy, healthcare etc. Schultz is arguably more liberal than Hillary / Obama and similar to Harris or Booker. Democrats are just worried he will split the anti-Trump vote. If Schultz is in it for the long haul he’s a guy I would consider voting for depending on the other options.

You're talking like the Dems would rig the convention and nominate someone that their own people didn't want.  That could never happen in todays day and age.

Why? Are people retarded? We have the first president in my lifetime that is at least attempting to keep all his campaign promises.

If he's described as a moderate liberal, than he's not more liberal than Hillary or Obama on anything... nor Harris.

The Democrats to a large extent, and the Republicans to a slightly lesser extent, are more devoted to ideology than to the American people or our shared goals and needs.

As a result the Democrats will hate any Republican president and the Repubs...any Dem president.  Regardless of the qualities of that person, the job they are doing, the outcomes....the ideology demands loyalty over reason.

So the "goal" of the Democrats is not to serve the American people or shared goals, but to oppose Trump.....the Repubs did essentially the same to Obama.

That being said, even the goal to eliminate Trump takes a back seat to serving the ideology, which Shultz does not do. Therefore, he would be sidelined in favor of a more radical candidate and he knows it, hence his move toward independent.

Trump could do just about anything at this time, even serve the leftists ideology, but that ideology also dictates that they oppose him, regardless of his actions.

IF you are looking for reason, rationality, common sense...you will not find that within the leftist ranks that now dominate the Democratic party and agenda.

I'm just shocked how quickly people here were ready to jump off the Trump train simply because the packaging of Schultz is better on the surface. I guess its very fitting though since most people wear their politically ideology like a brand rather than a representation of their core beliefs.

I think there are many more moderate people than radical ones in this country. I think Trump appealed to those moderates more than Hillary did, and won.  I think the Dems understand this and have a healthy fear of Shultz

If Howard Schultz won were just back to the same status quo of lip service with no delivery, in my opinion. That guy doesn't have the guts to go against the grain. Trump stuck by all the campaign promises he made to his voters I'm sticking with him till the end of the second term.

Of course you could very well be right.  It is far more common for people to lie their way to the presidency than deliver.  I am not aware of anything, at this time, to support that for Shultz other than he is a politician which aligns him with the rest of them.....all liars, all sucking the c@cks of some special interests that line their pockets.

Everytime I google him all that comes up is op-eds from Democrats of how awful he is......

I mean they don't not like him because of any policy issues, they just hate him because he is a billionaire white guy. That's it.
