I’m usually not, it was more just making fun of Horsecrap because when he was called out about that (not by me) he doubled down and claimed “could care less” was actually correct.

But I just googled effect vs affect and honestly that’s not how I remembered being taught (that effect is usually a noun and affect is usually a verb), so thanks Jerry, I learned something new today.  I’m not counting that as being wrong about something on Covid though

As a verb, "affect" is influence, whereas "effect" is create.  So you affect your memory, or effect change (or effect a faulty memory).

Yes I was always against the vax mandates.

Honestly there is data to suggest the employer mandates prevented deaths, but they never should have been forced.  Mandates for college students were probably the most unnecessary though, and I was shocked (and was one of the few times I was proven wrong in this thread) when some colleges even mandated the booster.

Again, I was always against the mandates, but pre-Omicron, the vaccines were still pretty effective against infection.   Even though they “can” catch and spread Covid, it was less likely (again, pre-Omicron).

Fauci’s biggest mistake was keeping the 21-28 day window between shots.     Should have spread it out to get more people 1st doses as opposed to people getting 2 before others even got 1.   Likely would have helped with the myocarditis issue as well.

Actually I believe the motivation for the employer mandate in particular was more about getting more people vaccinated in order to protect themselves from severe disease, and not really to “stop the spread.”

In that sense you could argue it was a success, but it shouldn’t have come at the expense of medical freedom.

This is where the FDA and public health need to start making things right.  They literally can not continue with this broken theory that just because a vaccine can increase antibody titers that a person is better protected while at the same time ignoring the unknown risk of a continued MRNA vaccine program.

We have a lot of things broken with our current government.  I don't think its too late for the FDA to turn around and dig themselves out the massive hole they've dug, but that lifeline is dwindling.  I can't blame people that never trust or respect them again, I'm holding out hope that they aren't beyond redemption, but like I said that door is closing and getting ANOTHER season of covid wrong could be what slams that door shut.  

I think the vaccine uptake this fall is going to be extremely minimal and this may be the final turning point for some of the covid straphangers.

We're having a small outbreak here at work now.  At least 5 people are currently out for being covid positive. All vaccinated.  My work center is 99.5% vaccinated (Required at one point).

On the positive side (maybe), the same bosses who threatened to fire the unvaccinated are now making jokes about telling people not to die. No masking, no social distancing, no close contact quarantines.
