nzoner 937 Posted March 9, 2020 Since it was my introduction to King(many many years ago) and I enjoy good vampire stories I still have to go with Salem's Lot,followed closely by 11-22-63,The Shining,The Stand and a collection of short stories called Night Shift. King cannot write an ending to save his life. His strengths are character building and children orgy scenes.

I felt like I had to force myself to finish it. Really? I couldn't put it down. The years as a teacher can be slow, granted, but I still enjoyed it.

Agreed. Although front to back I probably enjoyed The Stand the most, after a bazillion pages it ended out of nowhere. My wife and I still reference "Trashcan Man" for such an abrupt story ending, if you've read it. Also I never did finish It; I tried to read it in college but I only had time for a few pages at a sitting; seemed the character development went on for 300 pages and I just couldn't keep up. I also tried to read The Shining but I had seen the movie too many times and it was too different.

Agree. I think he is a great story teller. With many books I really enjoy the story and do not really care how it ends. Some books l like I don’t remember how it ended. Some of my favorites are: Needful Things Rose Madder Joyland End Of Watch It The Outsider Revival

ABC remade it into a mini-series and King was the Executive Producer and it followed the book to a tee.I really liked the Kubrick version but for a King fan the mini-series is IMO a must watch. nzoner 937 Posted March 11, 2020 Speaking of King I can't believe anyone is this dumb from his twitter.... @StephenKing ...No, coronavirus is NOT like THE STAND. It’s not anywhere near as serious. It’s eminently survivable. Keep calm and take all reasonable precautions. @StevieMichaelD1...And how the hell would you know?! Did you even read that book?
