And when I say top 5 , I mean top five players that because Head Coach not top became top five coaches.

Oh, I thought you meant 5 top became coaches player because not player 5 became coaches top.

Ditka (though i don’t think was a wonderful coach)
 

reeves- not a great player

 

 

as I think about coaches who played, there are not many that were great as a player and coach

Mike Singletary.  Not a great coach but probably the best player of the ones listed.

One half of football against a team of underachievers with a washed up defensive coordinator and a gimmicky offense eh.

Neither one did anything as a player. Kubiak has multiple Superbowl rings as a coach over Reich's one. :dunno:

I think Singletary coulda been better coach in a different era.  He had too much Buddy Ryan in him for the 21st century though.

Art Shell did whatever Al Davis told him. Got him to the HOF as a player and perennial 9-7 as a coach.
