Trump didn't win in 2016. Hillary Clinton lost that election. She made massive mistake after mistake. 

If Trump somehow prevails past the likely cheating and risk of assassination in 2024, then again, he won't win in 2024 as much as Biden will have lost the election. 

That's the thing, Biden "won" in 2020 because he was not Trump. Now Trump stands to reap a lot of converts simply because he's not Biden. The 'First Past The Post' system only gives you two choices and it's very predictable who those choices will likely be. Trump vs Biden 2.0 or Trump vs Newsom. Newsom can't win over Middle America, there's no way he can win a clean election on his own. 

Something no one is paying attention to is the MASSIVE growing platform for Brett Cooper. There are A LOT of young people who will sit out the 2024 election. Enough to swing it for Trump. Promises were made that were not kept. Cooper, of the Daily Wire, taps into that lingering discontentment by giving a contrast of positivity and common sense. I don't think Cooper can get more young voters to cast ballots for Conservatives, I do think she can help lay out enough information to a growing audience share to raise the level of discourse to the point where many young people just opt out. They can't stomach Trump but a vote for Biden is like eating rat poison to them.

This entire situation is a nice example of one of the key failures of liberal doctrine......You can never admit you have made a mistake, failed....done anything wrong....your policies are only ever good and effective (until 10-20 years later when you can just say "my bad").   So when it comes to these polls the media are in a tough spot, how do they promote Democrats when people are clearly done being harmed?

The media will have to work rather hard.  To distract we should expect plenty of volume toward Trump and other things.  They will try, but at some point the Democrat leaders will tell them to instead support someone else, and they will have to shift.....which should be entertaining

Biden is running out of time to announce that he’s not going to run again. He’s got until the end of the year I think. But at this point it looks doubtful. 
 

If he runs then despite the current polling I expect him to win because I believe disgruntled Democrats and independents will return to the fold- in the end they won’t stay home because they fear a Trump victory. 
 

But it will be very close. Too close. Amd anything could happen. It would be better for Joe to step down.

I generally don’t believe in conspiracies so my answer is there is no maneuvering. There is nothing going on behind the scenes. What there is is Biden stubbornly refusing to recognize that anyone else would have a better chance of beating Trump, or that his age is a problem. 
 

In the unlikely but hopeful event that Biden changed his mind and announces that he won’t run for re-election, I imagine he would take the LBJ in ‘68 route and not endorse anyone. In that event, based on current polling numbers, Newsom would have the edge over Kamala if that was the contest. But I have no idea how many Democrats would decide to enter the race at that point.

I would not because nothing was ever “done” to Bernie Sanders. In both 2016 and 2020, Bernie couldn’t get southern blacks to vote for him. In both elections he hit a stone wall in South Carolina and never recovered. There was never any underhanded scheme or plot. It’s just that southern black voters are Democrat but not leftist, so they’re never going to vote for a guy like Bernie. That’s the whole story.
