How much interest do you have for Braves/Asstros ??

Recommended Posts

Important game for the Braves tonight...  I am guessing that there would be more pressure on them to win tonight than the Astros...

So far it’s a good game! But the cold and the rain sucks.

That's one reason why I watch the games from indoors.

@posty You are a baseball guy.

Is Astro's current picher Luis Garica's wind up not a balk?  He steps, even so slightly towards home plate then rocks back to a normal wind up.  Letter of the law a balk imo.

Even his stretch pitch is a balk.  Watch when players on base.  He sets up then picks up his front foot off the ground several times back and forth.

What am I missing?

Unorthodox, but I guess not a balk per MLB umps.

Whatever else it is, it’s goofy as hell.

A balk is defined as trying to deceive baserunners…. No one is on base so it can’t be a balk by definition…

A lot of pitchers do that now…. They get the sign and bring the ball to their glove and rock a little and pickup their foot just a little a couple of times like they are getting comfortable…. As long as it is in one motion without stopping and he comes set for a second before the pitch, it isn’t a balk…

He did it with the bases loaded. Full wind up. We’ll double wind up.

Freddie Freeman was on third and I was yelling at the TV for him to steal home as soon as he rock forward.  Either he scores or the pitcher freaks and balks.  Are you not watching the game?

We have Texas Geeks.  Do you guys even root for these cheaters?

How do you truly feel that the Astros are Universally known as the Patrick Reed of Baseball?

Locally the Astros have tons of support. I have seen quite a few Astros shirts around town the last week.

My daughter said her school was full of Astros shirts as well.

I admit, I have been watching the games on DVR. I mostly watch the game at double or triple FF and rewind if any runs are scored and watch.  4 hour plus games are really stupid and with NFL, no one has time for that

Wasn't the manager of the Red Sox (Alex Cora) one of the ringleaders of the Astros cheating scandal?

Yes, yes he was.

We just witnessed a huge piece of history last night.  With the DH likely coming to both leagues in 2021, that was the final game in MLB history were a pitcher regularly batted.  The final pitcher to regularly come to the plate was Astros reliever Kendall Graveman.

I've actually been watching.... Man, it's incredibly fun to see real/bonafide pitching.

As a Rangers fan, I've no idea what it really looks like.

I have watched more then I expected for lack of anything else on. Isles have their mandated 5 day off last week then played Saturday and not again until Thursday. WTF.

I had a commitment last night and focused on that job. I convinced myself the Braves probably wouldn’t win anyway. I didn’t watch any TV yesterday. At 3 am I woke up to check and discovered they’d won.

I'm glad Atlanta won.  Not a fan of the Braves in any way, but I like Freddie Freeman... the dude is an elite player.  Glad he won.  Plus, I hate the American League.

now some idiot team will over pay him and pay him well into his suck years. Red Sox need a lefty 1st baseman, I pray they don't sign him

I don't think so.  Well, not on the front end anyway.  The dude is in great shape, plays first base (low impact), and is an elite hitter (not just power).  He's 31 (32 next year I assume).  A team should be able to get 4 or more years like this one.  The rest of the deal?  Yeah, he'll probably be overpaid.  My guess is that he gets a 7 year deal worth $30M per year.
