generals and high ranking military officers get fired a lot in war.  if he gets the boot, its pretty mild in historical terms.  hell Obma fired 2 generals and we werent at war.

It sure is. This whole Wagner private military force is a weird animal. I don't understand its existence, under that it's a private force the pushes Russia objectives around the globe, only now it's attacking Russia itself. This is some very weird sh1t indeed, but when Russia is taking up positions in its own capital to protect itself, this is very much a -sit-up-in-seat moment.

The Wagner head honcho has been at odds with Shoigu for awhile.  He now claims that Shoigu directed an attack on a Wagner camp, and apparently, now Wagner soldiers are on their way to Moscow.

Could be all a setup to remove Shoigu as a fall guy for the conflict.

Well a power vacuum is likely the most dangerous nuclear situation, but the most likely outcome of a coup is Putin flees to south america and some oligarch assumes power and pulls out of Ukraine in exchange for western support to stabilize the situation.

Prigozhin (the leader of Wagner) has basically been saying that Putin is a coward and if he uses a nuke, it'll be on Russia to hit Ukrainian troops invading to avoid NATO invoking Article 5.  Prigozhin wants to use them on the US instead.  Its really a terrifying thing to think he could oust Putin.
