Still waiting for you to reassess your original position. Let us know when you come to your senses.

I posted about it. You couldn't read it apparently. Not my issue you struggle with reading and comprehension.

Now run along- I prefer to discuss things with someone whom I respect. You don't fit the bill

Here's your problem.  You mention 2 woke movies bombing and then say the response to this is layoffs.  Thats completely false.  Only a child would draw this conclusion, come on man, be better.

Disney movies are rebounding in 2023 after a few down years.

https://variety.com/2023/film/news/disney-box-office-billion-dollar-mark-avatar-2-1235528694/

And the prospects look good.

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/04/18/disney-shares-set-to-rise-30percent-on-strong-film-slate-deutsche-bank-says.html

The layoffs are a response to operating costs, not lack of revenue from 2 movies.

https://www.npr.org/2023/03/29/1166719634/disney-plans-to-cut-3-of-the-entertainment-giant-s-total-global-workforce

Disney is restructuring to reduce costs in an effort to boost shareholder value.  Everyone does this as needed.

I don't know why you decided to start posting in this thread, but you should go back to sitting this one out.  You're out of your league.  Please educate yourself.

🤣🤣🤣

Hey @RLLD just wanted to see if you saw this question I posed. I was interested if you wanted to discuss this further.

I am not sure I understand the question.  Are you suggesting that in this instance there is not some single grand scheme afoot and that their issue is perhaps a myriad of factors?

Sean's alright. Liberals are everywhere and if you don't grade them on a respect curve, you'll never talk to one.

Agree with this.  We have to be able to talk. You need to gird yourself for immaturity when dealing with Liberals.  It takes patience.

My larger question was: can we admit that the actual context of what Disney spoke about in regards to challenges was far deeper than the headlines of the articles people posted here?

Not sure, I take them at their word.   They can likely point to a myriad of factors, there is usually not a "silver bullet", perhaps Bud Light being a counter point to that assertion.

If they speak to their own failure and do so in the way they did, I will take them at their word. If you object to their representation, that is between you and them.

It's okay to respect people of other opinion's even if you disagree with them at times. I respect you, and RLLD, and Fireballer. EternalShiny wouldn't know respect because he never says or thinks anything that warrants respect

My plot for the next Disney Princess movie:

Prince Larry lives in the castle; he is unhappy but doesn’t know why. The kingdom is cursed with endless winter; the legends say that only a new princess will bring about spring. Larry’s parents have tried to get him to marry but he doesn’t seem interested. But a princess is needed. Then Larry gets an idea: he doesn’t need to marry; he can become a princess himself! So begins an adventure in which Larry must find the wizard who will change him into a princess. But will the evil forces stop him?

What do you guys think? We’ll have catchy songs, and Larry will have a cute animal sidekick.

I object to the presentation of the remarks by the news sources that were shared. The headlines make it solely that "Disney admits woke hurt." That isn't what they said and the headlines are misleading and try to appeal to one side of an argument in a manipulative manner.

I'm saying- if we want to call out media we should call it out in all manners and not just when it is convenient.

I would tend to agree, it does appear that some outlets took their words and extrapolated them out a bit.  We know very well what their words mean, but in true media fashion...... they went into propoganda mode.  Which I do tend to object to

It'll work.

Prince Larry can be Dwayne Johnson, the cute animal sidekick can be a gerbil in black fetish leather played by Dylan Mulvaney, and the wizard can be Rachel Levine dressed up as a hairy winged fairy. The castle towers can all look like phalluses and the wizard's cave can be an enormous butthole .

Along the way Price Larry meets a BIPOC little girl princess who denounces the patriarchy as he steals her crown, distract a mermaid princess by dumping oil in her underwater paradise and steal her giant pearl, and discovers the only way to meet the wizard is to enter and win a girls-only bicycle race.

I'd tell Kathleen Kennedy about it.

They appear to be changing their approach to woke in order to curtail profit erosion, so no they aren't cancelled.

They've admitted their mistake, they are taking steps to remedy it. We'll see how it goes.

I wouldn't count on it.  The new Star Wars trilogy with Daisy Ridley's character Rey is still on the docket.

Those posters that were defending Disney here are looking worse every day.

Glad to see Disney is getting a taste of the s*** it's been trying to push on everybody else and not even following it themselves.

Can't wait to hear the excuses!  These guys have been zealously defending Disney and been consistently wrong the entire time.

Nah. You won’t be seeing them much in this thread.  It’s scorched earth. Complete annihilation.

The battle between Disney and Ron DeSantis is taking a pretty hilarious turn, as the former uses the governor’s own memoir against him in their recent lawsuit.

https://news.yahoo.com/oop-ron-desantiss-own-memoir-135142039.html

“One of the most damning of all. Ron DeSantis blatantly hinting that the new Reedy Creek board would try to exert control over content produced by Disney.”

The possibility that the governor’s own desperation to pander to a rightwing base could backfire in such a practical way has become a source of amusement on social media after watching this all play out so transparently for the past year.

“It's going to be hard for DeSantis to claim that he was misquoted in his own memoir. Or that the quotes are taken out of context given how clearly they lay out that his actions were punishment against Disney speaking out against a bill. He's hosed.”

Yup, it’s hilarious! Lol.
