It really is.   I just watched it again with my 8year old a couple weeks.   I think I like it more than she does, but she did respond to it a little more this time than a couple years ago when we tried.   Soul is another similar example from Pixar that does a good job of presenting complex things to kids.  We've had some good conversations after watching Pixar movies in particular.

It’s summertime. They have school and sports most of the time the rest of the year. We have movie night. No one asked to watch that movie. Sounds unenjoyable for a kid.
