Yeah exactly.  It makes little sense.

 He can draft late rounds. He is really good with undrafted FAs.  He can manage a cap a bit.  I don't think he sucks.  Better scout than GM in my opinion.   But he is so set in his ways.  Got to have RAS athletes at every position.   Strict.   Well we miss out on a bunch of actual football players.  Have a whole defense built on RAS and they hired a coach who wants to sit back and play some of the least aggressive defense in the league.  Pay Jaire then slap him in zone watching thr opponents best WR beat someone else. 

On offense they sign Rodgers back keeping him on for a bit.  But then draft him a 2nd round kid from division 2.   

It was obvious they would have to lean a bit more on thr defense this year.  But the defense is unreliable.  They have all the picks all the free agents all the talent.

I don’t expect every QB to take a Brady deal but I view Rodgers situation similar to Brady toward the end of his time in New England  I seem to recall complaints from Rodgers about weapons on the offensive side of the ball  one would think he might take a more team friendly deal but by most account he is a d nozzle who wants his cake / eat it too

Ghost of Cobb is true but getting Cobb has actually helped.  He was like their leading WR earlier this year.    Towards the top of the league in yards after catch.  He still can play.  The problem is they have a bunch of rookies and number 3 WRs.  They have neglected wr/te forever.  
 

when cobb is your leasing WR, you have issues  this goes back to a few points I made from Rodgers contract keeping them from going after higher priced receivers, to Rodgers historically not taking rookies under his wing  

They offered Adams basically thr same deal.  Adams wanted to play with his best friend Carr.  He and Rodgers remain close friends.   
The same deal as he got with Vegas? Why not offer a little more for Rodgers best weapon that helped you win 13 games? They are not rebuilding so how could they think success would come without a suitable replacement for a top 5 receiver in the league?

Is Rodgers playing like vintage Rodgers? No.  But thats not exactly the issue although it can contribute.   He can't carry them anymore.  His legs don't move like they used to.

It has been said by reporters that players are grumbling about the DC.  The DC that coached the lions to an 0-16 record.  There are 6 1st round picks on defense starting.  2 good sized FAs from a few years ago.  And 2 good sized FAs from this past offseason that we resigned.  Have spent countless picks on defense.  Yet they remain mediocre.    Waste of time.   
i think their secondary is very good  their run defense sucks and is exposed even more because teams would rather exploit that than test the secondary  

A 4th round rookie is thr Packers number 1 WR and I like Doubs, but he is a 4th round rookie.  Their TE was undrafted.

So Rodgers makes money so they can't go after weapons.  Umm....did you miss the whole section spending countless selections on the defense only to watch it never materialize into a good unit?   It doesn't cost money to forego yet another highly drafted defender fot some offense.  We may have the most resources put into our middling defense than any team in thr league.  You realize that right? You can go back and look up the insane amount of high picks used on defense only to never be good.  

I get it.  Everyone hates Rodgers do you all have agenda.  Mahomes makes money.  They lose reek and go replace him with juju mvs and now traded fot Toney.  Drafted Sky Moore in what the 2nd or 3rd? 

The packers sat into the 2nd round to take a D2 player.  Good thing Doubs thr 4th rounder looks decent since he is the number 1.

Rodgers left thrm with no money to get offense.  Yet they were able to sign Devandre Campbell and Rasul Douglas to healthy contracts,  2 guys no one wanted last season who came in and played well.   So off less than 1 year of merit they got contracts.  But they had no money.  An off the ball LBer(then they go draft another off the ball backer in the 1st round) and a nickle corner.  Both sucking this season.

They signed them on a defense already with countless 1st rounders and free agents.  

But Rodgers left them no money. 

My favorite is when someone asks a homer on something.  Then follows up with all thr answers anyway.  

You didn't really want to know.  You just hate Rodgers and want to pile on.

I’ve barely watched any Packers this year. But it’s criminal negligence to have a 38 y/o HOF QB throwing to mid round rookies and JAGs like Lazard, Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb. Rogers may be playing like ass but you’ve got to give your QB more to work with than that.

I get Rodgers rubs people the wrong way.  But people just go blind with hate.  He isn't playing well but they have a sad WR room.  The WRs aren't the only reason they are struggling.   The whole team is off.  The coaches are off.  

Stokes who last year as a rookie was really good is all of a sudden giving up thr highest completion % of any qualifying CB or something of the like.

Campbell who randomly was voted all pro last season and got paid this season has missed around 10 tackles this year.  When he missed 4 all of last season.  

Wyatt thr 23 year old rookie from Georgia doesn't even play.   An old rook from the SEC!

I am not even a big WR guy.  

The last 12 first round picks the Packers have had, exactly ONE has been used on offense.   You know who that is? Jordan Love.   We aren't even talking WRs.  We are talking any offense.

The Jordan Love draft they got....

A QB in thr 1st who may never see the field for them.  

A backup RB in the 2nd.  I don't even want to draft a number 1 RB in the 2nd round.  

A backup TE/HBack in the 3rd.  

That was their "offensive" heavy draft.  

Doubs looks to be a solid players especially for a 4th.  But to depend on him being heavily relied on in his rookie year is asinine.    Watson I focking hated.  1 guy I didn't want and I knew we would end up with him.  Oh hey lost both outside WRs.  Need one.  Lets go look at heavy running d2 north dakota st to find out next alpha wr.  Like on what planet?  When he doesn't have a pulled hammy he runs jet sweeps.  

Needed a WR a few years ago.  Went with Amari Rodgers in the 3rd.  A gadget slot guy.  Who indeed sucks azz and shouldn't be on the roster in year 2.  

The one year they went bargain shopping for WR.  J'Mon Moore 4th round.  Yeah who? MVS 5th....good pick there but still just a guy.  ESB in the 6th or 7th I don't recall.  Just bargain shelf 3 WRs in hopes you get lucky.  

What has killed the roster is going all in on defense every single year, only to never have a good unit.  We wallow in mediocrity on that side of the ball.

From 2014 up until this past draft where Watson was in the 2nd....the Packers used exactly 1 pick on a WR in a round higher than the 4th.  Amari Rodgers slot gadget dude.  

And our return game has sucked for eons as well just for good measure.

He avg 38.6 yds per game with clev last season.  He avg 38.125 with LA.  A stud? Wtf? Why do I hear people say this over and over? He did have a solid playoffs.  But stud is a really strong word in this case.  Kupp getting triple teamed.

Was it you I was arguing with this year about Mayfield? He just needed a decent coach. Finally got one.  I know one game. He had only 2 days practice for christ sakes.

Also, Davis should have fired the entire coaching staff immediately after the 98 yard drive. Unacceptable.

He still has the ego that he can do it all. Bunch of the 3 Quarter he was thrown on every down and not to his rbs and help. It wasn't working then but he got lucky in the 4th and made some nice passes. This has been his problem and it will come back again against him unless he changes his game.

 Brady sucked all game this week and had a good 4th quarter and I had to listen to how great he was again.  I guess the whole game matters.
