Strategic oil reserves have been lowered to it's lowest point since 1984

Recommended Posts

Inflation is torturing the country, but Biden wants a win so he rids our country of important oil reserves so he can go on tv and claim he's bringing gas prices down to only a couple dollars higher than when he took office.

Liberals are so stupid.

And getting rid of our strategic oil reserve is not a good thing. But you will ignore it because it's all on Biden and you voting for him.

I paid $2.87 the other day. I'm jubilant if you pay more. Like it or not, gas prices have come down. Don't whine about gas prices and then whine when they come down thanks in part to releasing the reserve. You're such a moron. 😂

Still way higher than when Trump was president.

What's the national average peanut?

Plus I'm sure you are putting sh*t gas in your car. And I'm talking regular.

Its not really bad either, the strategic reserve was created in 70s after Americans were sick of waiting in gas lines.  It was a response to opec.  We're less reliant on opec and the reserve these days.  Trump lowered the reserve too.

They're going back up. Paid just under $6/gallon yesterday.

And I fully expect them to go back to where they were and higher after the midterms.

In March 2020, Trump did propose purchasing 77 million barrels of oil in order to fill the SPR to its maximum capacity, according to the DOE. But Congressional Democrats blocked the measure, calling it an “estimated $3 billion bailout for big oil.”

Why did we have a shortage of gasoline?

At $4 a gallon, alternatives such as electric cars, are a bigger selling point.  Thanks Dems.  It has been their plan to have high gas prices. 👎

That God Trump filled them up.

No he didn't.

In fact, the highest level ever for the SPR was in 2010, when Barack Obama was president. Further, there was actually a net decline in the SPR when President Trump was in office. When he took office in January 2017, the SPR contained 695 million barrels. When he left office four years later, the SPR contained 638 million barrels. So not only is the claim of filling it untrue, but the level of the SPR actually declined while President Trump was in office.

Actually it was W that filled the reserves.  Only good thing he did.  Of course he did it to help his Saudi brethren, but so be it.

Why are magatards so obsessed with filling oil reserves?  You do understand that it doesn't really matter anymore, right?  Or did Tucker Carlson not tell you that yet?

Hey lib, how much is in our strategic electrical reserves?

I might argue that the stategic reserve does not exist to enhance the election chances of the party in power.  It exists for wars and natural disasters interrupting supply and placing our country in jeopardy.  Still, prices are down, temporarily.  I enjoyed that price relief just this weekend.

It's $3.77 in NJ right now.  I'm not seeing any relief.  I should move to a red state.

Just to clarify, we didn't "give" oil to China, we sold it to them, for prices over $100/barrel, and we can buy it back now for less.

$24 per barrel?

of course not.  Trump sold 57M barrels at price between $40 and $70 barrel.  In the end, it's all meaningless.

And the dumbocrats shut him down because of TDS.

I'm not sure whoever appeared on the Chris Hayes show is the best argument maker.

Also, Chris Hayes looks like someone took one of those apps where you can see what you'd look like as the opposite sex and put in a picture of Rachel Maddow
