I believe both jeudy and Allen were injured at the time.

rationale was a somewhat comparable rb and a solid starting, healthy wr for cmc and hope In recovery for a wr.

walker was scoring about 20 ppg after penny went down.

lockett has scored over 13 in 12/14 games

jacobs is the #2 back (ahead of cmc)

You didn't even start Jacobs OR Lockett against me in the finals :o

my thought process for this week's lineup:

Burrow

WR- JJ

WR- Waddle

RB- Walker

RB- Fournette

TE- Andrews

Flex- D Smith

PK- greg the leg

DST- jax

qb: geno and tua.  sea has not been playing well lately and they have had a lot of injuries  vs the jets (who still have  a good defense). tua- out

WR:

JJ was a must start.

Waddle- i had some hesitation due to him not performing as well with teddy and the 3rd string, plus were at NEP. went with him anyway

D. Smith- wanted to get him in.  I liked his match and also like how he connects with minshew

Lockett, Aiyuk. Lockett has been fighting injuries and was going against a decent jets defense. I was contemplating getting him in but didn't trust his health

Aiyuk-  I loved the match up at the raiders, but see him as a high floor/low ceiling wr even with deebo out due to the other offensive pieces in SF.

RB:

Walker- Vs jets.  this worried me less as he can be part of the passing game. I believe he was hurt, and came back in a little later.

Fournette- TBB playing for division title vs CAR. Liked the match up though he would get more usage as a vet due to the gravity of the game (plus they typically throw a decent amount in his direction). He also had a td called down inside the 1.

Jacobs- disliked this match up vs SF who had not given up 70 yds to a rusher this year. typically a very reliable back this season.  I really wanted to play him as well. I thought that there would be heavier usage due to last week's totals and a young qb.  he ended up with a nice week... a DPI put them on the 1 which brought him to 19.5

TE: due to Andrews inactivity, i was contemplating muth.

Flex: was down to jacobs, d smith, lockett

PK: thought about FA for a kicker , but thought the jets would move the ball better with white.  OK day with a miss of 57 yds.

DST: had the jets.  their offense has been hurting the defense. grabbed JAX at HOU and it paid off.

this may end up as my worst week of the season.  JJ disappearing and subpar performances from waddle and fournette (plus amari having a big day) is going to cost me.

Lockett was an easy sit with his health and the Jets secondary

I would have started Jacobs just because I don't trust Lenny week to week and again, Jets defense for Walker. I think Jacobs is more or less a matchup proof player this year and if a defense shuts him down you tip your cap. I'm not sure which way I would have leaned between Lenny and Walker. Walker isn't a big part of the pass game and I did not see that ground yardage total coming... but Lenny has his time share. :dunno:. Tough one

Win / Win Trade mid season for both teams.

Carolina's run game and offense had an uptick after the trade, the offense is simply geared more to a smash mouth run game, not the west coast dump off style.  And we have 7 picks in the first four rounds in the 2023 Draft.  I think both parties would make the same trade again.

Who do you want to coach? Wilkes did a good job.

I was very unsure in the beginning and thought he would be just an interim stop-gap from the Matt Rhule DISASTER.  I think he was like 3-13 his only other Head Coaching stint in the NFL with the Cardinals several years ago.

However, Wilks won the job and deserves the chance longer term.  The more games were played, the more I saw on the field and off, the more I liked him.  He is from Charlotte, went to West Charlotte High and played at Appalachian State down, or.... up the road a bit.  He's a local guy so this is his dream job.....I'm rooting for him and give it two thumbs up if they extend him.

I agree. I know he cried the race BS before but he has proven he deserves the shot. But your owner likes to toss the money around so he might go for the name.

Tepper probably will, he's horrible.  Not a fan of him whatsoever.

Was my 1st pick in a PPR draft. The trade helped me have a 30 pt lead going into MNF

Jj scoring 2pt, fournette, and waddle scoring 8,

and cooper scoring 25 pts why you have a 30 pt lead.

I believe they were referring to the nfl trade between car and sf.

Oh they definitely were. I was saying that trade benefited me. CMc was doing dogshit on the panthers before the trade.

also I swapped out Davis for Cooper last minute. :o and picked up Giants D and a new kicker for this week.

whats the GM situation? the CMC trade was smart but Fitterer was also in charge during the Sam Darnold fleece and subsequently exercising his 5th year option right? I feel like certain recent higher picks like Corral and Terrace Marshall have been a bit questionable given the roster and other needs, though Ekwonu was a smart albeit no brainer selection... although he really hasn't graded out all that well.

Matt Corral is a rookie hurt in pre-season.  The grade for him is N/A.  Ekwonu played great for a rookie tackle.  Marshall Jr still feeling his way around but has showed flashes.  Jaycee Horn, Brian Burns, Derrick Brown, Shaq Thompson, Jeremy Chinn.  Not sure where you are going but I've been happy with the draft the past several years.

Everyone knows you need a QB in the NFL to go next level.  We're still feeling it out, and the number one point of emphasis.  Sam Darnold isn't all that bad, he's just NOT elite.  Matt Corral is a rookie coming back from surgery.  So we go from there.....

7 Picks in the first four rounds in 2023 to bolster the roster feels like a trend upwards.

I'm simply asking you as a Panther fan how you feel about your GM situation :dunno: it's a fair question to ask after finding out how you feel about the coaching situation.

your GM has only been in charge since the 2021 offseason. He's not responsible for picks like Burns, Chinn and Derrick Brown... or Shaq Thompson from 2015.

I wasn't grading Corral or even really grading Marshall. I was speculating that they were odd choices given other needs on the roster or other moves that had been made such as giving up a lot for Darnold and extending him. I don't think Ekwonu played great but yes, I like him a lot.

Not killing Fitterer, i'm just wondering how a Panther fan feels overall.

Such a weapon. Gotta keep him healthy but, just insane what you can do with a guy like that. Unreal.

#1 overall  Re-draft Fantasy pick next season?

I'm not big on paying up for someone after a career year of stats and health

he was 1-3 overall this year so.... you'd only zag if you thought injuries were going to catch up
