Killer who fatally stabbed 4 University of Idaho students pleads guilty

Did the police actually say they ever considered him a person of interest?  I don’t recall that.

Also seems odd that an ex-boyfriend’s aunt would start a fundraiser page

No they didn’t, that’s some pretty reckless reporting. I think they meant the internet anointed him a suspect but that’s not how most would take it.

Though I do recall the Goncalveses suggesting the cops were looking into the ex. They were saying that the cops were looking at the wrong person in their view, but the inference was that the ex was being looked at

I read that the person arrested was Bryan Kohberger.  He's a grad student at Washington State.

I noticed some Twitter user accused a different man by name and pictured him holding an AR-15 and wearing a red Make America Great Again hat.  Some of these liberals are scum.

You see all the lying they do here. They can’t even keep up with them there are so many.

People (probably of various political leanings) have been accusing people by name since it happened.

Possibly the killer (that's now been arrested) called in to this livestream on youtube two weeks ago at 4:49:20 saying his name is Dave

Now I’m interested. Eager to see what the motivation was.

My guess is he has an obsession with murders. He was going to school for criminology and was doing a study. I think he really wanted to know how it felt to commit a murder.

As for the connection to the victims, I’m not sure yet.

I’d say you’re on the right track. I don’t know what would be more focked up, that being the case, if he knew them or he didn’t know them.

I don’t know either. Both or pretty terrible. I’m interested to find out more details.

I’m impressed with how well the police kept all the details from the public. Lots of people were thinking the case was going cold because of there being no news. Looks like they did well so far.

I saw someone put up his facebook post requesting people to take an anonymous survey.  I wonder if he did that to find potential victims, and one of the 4 killed had put in a submission?

I wonder if any tips on the Elantra helped find him. That was basically the only info they gave.

They probably checked multiple states on the vehicle and why it took a bit. I bet that is how he was caught.

Might’ve been his parents. You gotta figure they put two and two together

Earlier in this thread, I was pretty sure the murderer got away with it, glad I was wrong.

Hopefully wrong. They will have to prove their case now.

From websleuths 5:18 pm   "Judge Jeanine Pirro on Foxnews (the Five) just said she has "sources" that told her the suspect was tracked down with the use of genealogical DNA."

Sounds like they had his DNA, but no match in the database because he hadn't been arrested on felony charges before. HOWEVER, a relative of his had. They don't get an exact match, but a close match so they know which family it is.

It's rather controversial. You haven't given up your DNA privacy, but a family member who's arrested on felony charges means most your DNA is now in the database. My understanding is the FBI only reveals close matches to local police in certain murder cases.

This been happening in cases for a few years now and how they caught the Golden State Killer.
