Have to agree that dialing in on Mulvaney here makes no sense, he was certainly not the only mentally ill person the company was expoiting for sales.  It might be true that part of it was the exposure of Mulvaney. We simply knew more about him than we did any of the others, and he was just so obviously ludicrous in his game on this. But I think it might have as much to do with what the dumb@ss marketing rep said as anything else. I am not in the heads of these people so I really can only guess.

Ive seen rebates on various beer brands.  Not very often though.  And when I do it is like a 5 dollar rebate.

The amount of the rebates is most likely directly related to it but they have rebates on beer all the time, especially during the summer.  Every summer here the grocery stores have big rebates on Busch Light if you buy a certain amount of meat.  It's a great deal.

Every time I am out I hear people ordering those Orange Crushes. In fact we took the camper out near OC and there was a guy who built a table just to make them, with the orange crushing apparatus and everything....he took it rather seriously. 

I’m heading to OC tomorrow for a long holiday weekend. Today I picked up some Devil’s Backbone Orange and Grapefruit Smash (10% abv) for the beach. I’m not a beer guy anymore so I picked up 1.75L of blanco tequila to make spicy margaritas too. I might not remember the weekend.
