Inevitably this is the conservative argument, but most experts on this subject disagree with it. The rebuttal by these experts is that if we produce more gas, Saudi Arabia will respond by producing less, so as to keep the price stable or high. If the price of gas is lower here than it is in Europe and the rest of the world, why should Joe Biden be blamed for the price of gas? Gas prices are global, national and local. How much you have, import or produce will impact you locally. Whereas there is a globally-driven influence. And while production does have an impact (it is not as if oil is somehow immune from supply and demand) also too is speculation. And where something arises that is observed to hinder capture, production or delivery...prices will rise on that alone....even if that impact is the cancellation of a oil line. There is really nothing mysterious about any of this. Biden came into office, and rather than be reasoned and careful, he sought only to unwind what Trump had built....which was profoundly good for people. notably the historically disenfranshised. As Biden implemented his mistakes, it was only too easy to predict the outcomes....inflation....and all of us who pronounced this were laughed at....but when it hit, Biden tried to pretend it away instead of meeting it head on.....it was deplorable....then he lied and called it "transitory".....and some businesses actually believed him. Sadly they did not move to protect themselves.

More things to add to RLLD's excellent post A) Biden's policies on energy have essentially put a full halt on investment in refineries for diesel. Our nation's entire trucking industry lives and dies on diesel. And it has a cascading effect on prices everywhere for everything. There is also a dovetail impact on fuel for planes. Which then has a domino effect on commerce, mail, shipping, tourism and national security. To make that even worse, Biden traded Brittney Griner for Viktor Bout, the most notorious black markets weapons dealer in the entire world. One of his specialties is MANPADs, basically anti-aircraft missiles, which Biden left many of for the Taliban in the idiotic and chaotic "withdrawal" from Afghanistan. The radical leftist activists should think about that the next time they fly. Or their children fly. So for the unhinged activists reading this - Biden made it harder for people in transportation to keep their jobs, drove up prices for everyone, threatened national security, destroyed domestic energy independence and made it easier for all your children to get blown out of the sky and billed you for it with your own tax dollars. B ) The logistical pathway for drilling for oil goes hand in hand with natural gas production. Which still powers a full THIRD of America's total nation wide energy needs. You don't just hurt diesel and jet fuel on the back end, you are also hitting natural gas. C) The failed extraction from Afghanistan didn't just leave billions of dollars in high tech weapons to the Taliban and other terrorist groups. It also left the 2nd largest lithium deposits in the entire world. The Taliban immediately cut a deal with the CCP and Xi Jinping. Who has a world wide chokehold on electric car battery production? China. Who cut deals with China and their storefront "shell" companies for the CCP? James Biden, Joe Biden's brother. Several major banking institutions literally begged James Biden to stop making transactions that forced them to "Red Flag" him and his accounts, because they feared retaliation from the Joe Biden political machine. Who has personal investment in electric vehicle related companies and lied about it to Congress? Jennifer Granholm. And she also is pushing hard for the US military to convert all it's ground based vehicles to electric. The same companies that handle electric car batteries in China use different shell corporations and false fronts, of which some are known for production "precursor" For what? For shipping to Mexico to the Sinaloa Drug Cartel, to produce fentanyl to be pumped into American cities. How are these Cartel members armed to guard these shipments? With firearms sold to them by Obama, Biden and Eric Holder during Operation Fast And Furious. Particularly AK47s and anti-material rifles. If you want to give terrorists and drug cartels a bunch of guns paid for with American tax dollars to eventually kill more people in the United States, while destroying domestic energy production, then Joe Biden is your personal savior. By the way, for the radical leftists in here, if that wasn't enough, Cartel mules regularly rape little girls coming across the Border. Also engage in human trafficking for sexual slavery and prostitution. And up to 17 million women and little girls were left to be "war brides" in Afghanistan. To be sodomized and gang raped. If you are an innocent little brown girl somewhere in the world, Joe Biden has made it his personal mission to set the pathway for you to be open massacred like a pure human toilet. Of course per usual these good points are surrounded by some very convoluted, really bizarre arguments. And I think your overall POV is way off but that’s no surprise. easilyscan 908 Posted August 4, 2023 I don't believe gasoline is very high on the list of inflationary items we should be concerned about. A newspaper in my state did a story way back in 2006. What things cost then vs now. A gallon of gas was $1.25 in 1980 & $2.40 in 2006. Adjusted for inflation, at that time it was down 22% https://www.imagebam.com/view/MEN8A6T 17 years later, the average price is $3.82 & only accounts for around 3% of the average family's budget. https://www.imagebam.com/view/MEN8A8I We all like to see the price of our homes go up, but there's residual effects. Higher property taxes, higher homeowners insurance & at today's prices, a substantial % of families simply can't afford one. Rent is also obscenely high. The result of that has been a 15 year period of insatiable demand for low income/affordable housing. We all know who pays for that. Throw in the fact that the federal reserve (Jerome Powell) finally grew a pair and saw the damage done by close to a decade of zero interest rates, and you've got a real mess. So I'd say housing is the biggest, but certainly not the only issue. Seems almost everything is insanely priced right now. Had to have a root canal 2 months ago. $340 for the prep by my regular dentist, $2400 for the root canal by a specialist, & another $400 for a permanent crown. Around this time last year I had to replace my Maytag washer and dryer. I suppose I could've got by cheaper, but I wanted to do the right thing. So I purchased a Speed Queen set that are made right here in the US (Wisconsin) just under 3K. Inflation is a biotch
