Homosexual behavior is well documented among animals, especially with mammals. However since we can't ask about their thought processes and how they view themselves, transgender identification remains unknown.

The thing about animals changing gender is that it's to protect or further the species. Like the clown fish example, or frogs for instance. 

That's not really why humans do it.
