Viewing the video evidence it appears the older, larger male advanced aggressively on the younger, smaller male.  The larger male came ten yards or so to the vicinity of the younger male.  The larger male pursued the smaller male, even using some physical force to get to the smaller male bypassing a third party whose evaluation of the situation was that intercession was necessary.

 

Imagine making global assertions from a singular event while the facts are in doubt.  Good job OP.

And then further, have the temerity to expect us to have some sort of collective guilt because we complain when drag queens twerk their asses to stripper music a foot away from 5-year-olds who put $$ in their crotch, while a prominent sign behind them reads "It Won't Lick Itself". Like we're responsible when a gay guy with anger management issues goes and gets himself killed because the retreating kid he attacked had a knife.

If it a legitimate news report then provide a link, so we read the details and can determine for ourselves if it indeed was a hate crime (being attacked by a member of another race does not, in itself make it a hate crime, as far as the law is concerned).

An Asian American woman and her family who were visiting New York City last week were attacked in a possible hate crime on the subway, according to bystanders’ footage. Sue Young said she, her husband, and daughters were laughed at and mocked with anti-Asian comments by three Black teenage girls sitting across from them on the train.

One of the girls then charged toward Young and the other girls pinned her down on the subway bench, leaving Young with several bruises. Other riders of multiple ethnicities formed a human shield to protect Young’s family.

A bystander, who was also Asian American and filmed the attack, was assaulted by the group as well. “I don’t want this to be a Black-versus-Asian [issue]; I don’t want to fan the flames,” Young said. “The girls…I want them to be caught but…I don’t want this to ruin their lives.” So far, no arrests have been made.

This is wrong. And it’s a poor comparison. 
 

A gay black man was murdered; it was an act of homophobia. It was a hate crime. The victim didn’t instigate it. 

The Asian family that was mistreated by the three teens were also the victims of hatred and bigotry. But one incident has nothing to do with the other. 

The reason that I blame conservatism for the former crime is that there is so much anti-gay and trans rhetoric coming from them these days. Is there anti-Asian rhetoric coming from anyone? Outside of Donald Trump during Covid I haven’t heard it. Still, tensions between blacks and Asians have always been an issue. But it really has nothing to do with this topic.
