Being a Taylor Swift fan I bet you just might enjoy it.

That's another one I can't figure out. She's apparently bringing in dumpsters full of cash with everything she does. I think she's a prolific songwriter. But I don't get how she's the new beatles.

She's more like the Female Elvis of this generation.

Has anybody seen this movie? Do you know anybody who has? Apparently it's like a financial juggernaut. But I don't know a single person who's ever seen the movie or wants to.

50+ y/o men are not the target demographic. They made a movie for 10 year old girls. Fortunately my 10 year old girl has not expressed any interest in it, the benefits of not watching TV.

No, and I even avoided Oppenheimer because I was so annoyed with the “Barbenheimer” bullsh1t

Can you explain to me why it was decided these two movies were going to be the summer blockbusters?  Both seem totally unremarkable. :dunno:

No idea.

A biopic and an extended product placement film?

I guess they’re not superhero movies, at least :dunno:

It’s honestly not really for ten year old girls, it’s more targeted for adult women and maybe teenagers.

I did see it with the wife and some friends, it was weird.

I heard seafoam has watched it over 50 times...

You hear a lot of really dumb things and parrot it online to people who don't care. You prove it daily. 😆

I didn't see it yet, but my daughter saw it and this is her opinion (not word for word but this is what I remember) because I was considering seeing it and wanted her take on it:

It was pretty good and a couple of funny moments, but had way too many long speeches that weren't good. It was fun to see the fashions but it was basically a movie for white women to complain about "the patriarchy".

My daughter has a different relationship with men feels that they've been most helpful in her life so her thinking isn't in line with white women. She doesn't understand why white women complaining, they have all the good men and have it pretty good in life (in comparison to most women of color).

She said that life is more nuanced than the movie tries to portray and she actually liked the Ken character....I think....I think that's what she said, I don't remember. She said men are not a monolith and that the white women who have flocked to see this movie just want to identify with this blonde woman and wear pink dresses and complain and act like they're really doing something to change when in fact they're not going to do anything, that going to this movie is the extent of their actions.

You're daughter sounds very intelligent with a great grasp of what's going on in the world.

My wife went with our 6-yo daughter. Wife said it was only ok, and it fully went over my daughter's head. But she really loved all the pink sh1t.

Anyone have Boobart's phone number? I think I'll take her to see Barbie in the dark theatre. 🚀

Not paying extra to see it, but I will watch if it's on a streaming service I get.   Same for most movies - I will watch damn near anything.

I fingered her with my Ken doll. Then blew them up with fireworks.
