Question about the draft/being drafted..

I saw a post yesterday about how if WW3 starts we will have to start up the draft. **Not saying I believe this, but I have questions and I am just kind of thinking out loud. I am not fear mongering or really thinking seriously about this, but it was something that crossed my mind. We have SO many that kneel when the anthem is sung or just simply hate anything that has to do with America (despite living here). 

I know  every male has to register when they turn 18. 

Given the state of our country and the numbers of people that "hate America" and there's no way they'd fight for us...how would this work? I am not sure what the percentages are of the men who don't/refuse to register at 18, but I imagine it's gone down considerably. 

That said, the number of men who HAVE registered, if they are actually CALLED to defend the country, how many would refuse? 

I can't picture men being eager to go fight for something they really do not believe in. Politics aside, because in this case it really doesn't matter which party you belong to, the draft is for all men. 

How would WW3 actually look for us if they just don't go? And I am not even touching the "assigned male at birth" or transgender argument; they'd have to go too.

I haven't seen anyone kneel during a national anthem in years, and kneeling during the anthem doesn't mean you hate America, and I would venture to guess that there are very few people who actually hate America, regardless of what the media says.

Really? Years? 

I am not sure it's been years. Perhaps it doesn't happen as often, but I believe it still happens. I know that teams can be fined now, so perhaps that's why it's not as much as it was before. 

At any rate, my post is more about the draft and actually finding people to fight. The flag kneeling can be removed from my post and my point still stands.

When you're drafting civilians to fight in a war, I don't think much has changed over the past 100 years, and that is not many American civilians want to fight for their country, or Israel.

I honestly don't think we would need a draft.  I think we would have enough including all the people who would also volunteer.  With how far technology has come I don't see why we would need that many more troops.

Possible 

I know lots of veterans from my generation, though...and it just seems this generation doesn't have as many heading off into the military voluntarily. THat's just my anecdotal experience though, I haven't actually done any research to see what percentages of enlistment look like. I am kind of curious of the reaction of folks if they are essentially "forced" to fight when they don't care much for the country. 

And like I said, just random thoughts I had when reading one of the "nuclear war will be here in 2022" posts.

The kneeling, which I've never seen at anything other than years ago on television when NFL players were doing it, is at the center of your point. 

I've been to several pro sports events in the past year, and hats were off, hands were over hearts and the singing of the "National Anthem" was as loud as it could be.

If we got entangled in a World War III, just about every swinging d!ck in my community would be down at the recruitment office to sign up. They wouldn't need to be drafted.

I don't think we'd even need a draft.

Step away from the alt right media.  I'd suggest that the unwashed horde that attacked our capital to try and prevent the peaceful transition of power in this country demonstrated that they hate the US to a much larger extent.

Our leaders live like kings.  Zero chance they give that up and face nuclear war.

This is part of the alt-right playbook of catastrophizing and believing our country is going to hand in a hellbasket.

Just because our society has evolved to the point where young people feel more comfortable being who they are and are not ashamed to address any emotional issues doesn't mean an entire generation has gone soft to the point at which it wouldn't answer this country's call to protect itself. 

The bigger issue is MAGAturds continually warping facts and making mountains out of molehills - like believing entire cities were burning in summer 2020, that Biden couldn't have gotten 81 million votes, that Antifa is some powerful organization and that BLM is a terrorist movement.
