USC players fire indirect shots at Caleb Williams by shouting “We a team now!” after upsetting Louisville under Miller Moss’ leadership

Recommended Posts

Bears better not draft that clown #1 overall.

The Trojans won their Holiday Bowl game on Thursday without their star quarterback Caleb Williams

No.16 Louisville Cardinals in an exciting Holiday Bowl game. USC’s star quarterback Caleb Williams opted to not play in the game and cheered his team from the sidelines. Even without Williams, the Trojans managed to cause an upset as they defeated the Cardinals in a dominating fashion.

Furthermore, following the game, the USC players seemingly fired a shot at their former Heisman Award-winning quarterback Caleb Williams, who did not play in the game.

A brief video of the Trojans wide receiver Raleek Brown shouting that they are a team now went viral on social media and accumulated more than 941k views within days. Check out the footage of the incident attached below.

Wouldn't surprise me.  Heading into this season I was caught up in the hype and the chance for the Cards to draft him.  But as I watched him over the season, I was increasingly underwhelmed.  Looks like just another mediocre USC QB who was boosted by the talent around him.  Hard pass.

Is there any tangible evidence this was in reference to Caleb Williams?

I've been following him all year. He lost Addison and he turned into a pumpkin. On social media he has been open about wanting to pick and choose who drafts him.

He definitely has spoken out that he doesn't want to go to the Bears. Which is awesome because he's not even the best QB in college right now not even mentioning the rest of the positional players. I would take Harrison and Nabers and Odenze and Bowers and Nix and Maye and a bunch others ahead of that dude.

Is he still saying he wants an ownership stake by any team that drafts him?  Or did he walk back that demand once the losses started piling up?

I haven't heard him walk it back, but who knows. He's got one of those loud mouth dad's too that no one wants to hear from.

I'm guessing his best chance would be in New England where Belichick can put him in his place. If Belichick is still there.

You really have to take some liberties to make that leap in logic I think.....:dunno:

The guy and his fatjer have shown over and over again his ego and selfishness. Even while he sucked .

So it's not really a leap.  You think his teammates don't see it?

Not sure.   It could be true that they were celebrating their win without him, and maybe he was not well=regarded among them.....I am just hesitant to make that assertion based on the provided video

No he didn’t. He “liked” a post that said the Bears should draft MHJ and build around Fields instead of drafting him.

I'm not trying to convince anyone. But people are calling him a "generational talent" and I we're seeing a lot of evidence that he's more Ryan Leaf than Peyton Manning. He's also listed as 6'1" which probably means he's 5'11".

Yeah, he said he doesn't want to go 1st overall. And you missed the other posts as well. Good one.

Any team who passes on Williams will regret it for years to come. He’s the next Patrick Mahomes.

Sure.

I've been watching all season about the guy. I'm not going to do your grunt work. Do your own homework.

I can’t find any quotes from Caleb Williams saying he doesn’t want to go to the Bears or go #1 overall. The only thing close I can find is the link I posted above.

If he falls to the lions they won’t draft him.

The Lions will fall fast either way. They are at their peak and aren't even close.

There will never be another Mahomes.

Also, these players opting out of their bowl games blows.  I get it, and what's at stake.  But you're basically giving up on your teammates in the biggest game in many of their athletic careers, after you worked so hard to get there.

Damn.  The two dumbest guys on the board disagree.  When it was just seafoam, I thought it was a good sign Caleb would love up to the hype

I guess we know if the bears draft Williams he's probably not great since they only draft bad QBs.

By the way, this was right after the defense recovered a game sealing fumble and the defense was celebrating.

It's far more likely, the defense was giving a receiver a hard time for running over to celebrate with them, and he responded to that with the "we a team now" thing, and he also said "we a team though"

The mayo bowl and holiday bowls are the biggest games of these kids careers?

Lol.  Outside of thr playoffs these bowls are purely exhibitions.

I liked Nabers.  He needed 22 yards to be the LSU career leader and the announcers were gushing about how he had such dedication.

Dude got 23 yards in the first quarter and we never saw him again.

Yeah. He would "love up to the hype".

And you claim to be the smart guy.

Good one peanut.

He looked amazing last year when I watched him and this year he looks like he lost his mojo. I think college D's have figured him out by keeping him in the pocket. He seem to me to be a better passer on the run.

Never a good sign for a soon to be rookie QB.

Yea and maybe whoever drafts him will tune their offense to cater him kinda like Balt did for Jackson over the younger years.

Most likely, Like I said love his talent last year, would pass on him this year if I was a GM, I think the attitude issues maybe real as well.

I find it concerning that Williams and Maye skipped their bowl games. Maybe I’m old fashioned but a true leader and competitor would not do such a thing

agree.  I would have rather played one last game with my college boys than the few games I got to play in spring training any day

also, has USC ever produced a QB that lived up to the hype?
