Are you willing to see the government shut down unless Democrats accept conservative proposals regarding the border and spending?

I'm tired of the government shutdown being used constantly as a ploy by BOF SIDEZ to get their way.   It's silly, over used, and this point, I am thinking I don't give a damn if it shuts down.

Yes. I am so tired of this being used as some kind of leverage by either side. Shut it down.

I've always been against a govt shutdown but after the last 2 months of utter chaos and assault on America, fock it.  Shut it down.  Trump is the president, he owns the house and senate.  If they can't solve this then fock em all.  Bring the pain.

My only concern about the government shutting down is that it’s going to slow the work that DOGE is doing. Other than that, SHUT, IT, DOWN.

Exactly.

Elections have consequences.

Trump and MAGA have said he has been given a mandate in the election taking all three branches of government.

Since Republicans hold all the cards (to quote Trump berating Zelensky) let's see them govern without the Democrats.🍿

One thing is for sure, if the gov does shut down, you won't see Trump preventing people from pulling over in vista turnouts to take pictures of national monuments like Obama did.

Because Trump isn't a petulant, vindictive, asshoIe, that hates Americans, like Obama was.

That would be awesome!

The reason this shutdown will occur is because the Democrats exist.

The bill doesn't get filibustered without Democrats actively filibustering it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think though the silver lining is that under the extraordinary circumstances of a government shutdown, the president and OMB would have some decent authority to prioritize which bills get paid (and which don't).

Lol...only a focking moron considers an assault on the tith-sucking authoritarian bureaucracies as an assault on America.   Focking moron.

I profess that I am a little surprised that Schumer decided to back down on this shutdown.   Democrats are all about the immediacy of things, and sure he and many of his cult have in pat years shouted to the sky of the evils of a shutdown.....only to threaten it here.....since it would now feed their political power.....you see, Democrats only ever take action to feed their power.

I think we should really look at this move as significant.  Schumer could not have actually stopped this CR, but he could have really focked the country up to placate the radical elements.  His refusal to do this shutdown should be seen as a rather positive thing, for everyone.....because it means that the non-radical components of the party might be making a comeback.

IMO both sides want a shut down. Democrats because they can blame Trump.

Trump wants it because it'll trigger this:

A shutdown furlough (caused by lack of appropriations) lasting for 30 consecutive days or 22 discontinuous workdays would convert from a temporary furlough to an "adverse action" requiring a RIF.

2. Expedited RIF Authority: Under 5 CFR Part 351, once a furlough reaches these thresholds, agencies can begin RIF procedures. This allows them to permanently separate, downgrade, or reassign employees based on retention standing, veterans' preference, tenure, and performance.

3. Presidential or OMB Action: While the President does not directly order a RIF, he can instruct agencies via OMB guidance to prepare and execute RIFs in response to prolonged funding gaps.

4. Agency Discretion: The affected agencies must initiate RIF procedures unless funding is restored.

I hope they shut down and we have a nice long furlough. I won't have to go into the office which will be nice.

Schumer already folded, non-story. Re-up your democratic talking points.

Maybe its not that simple.  Maybe this is the tipping point at which Democrats can now fight their radicals, and take back leadership of the party on the part of sane and reasonable liberals.....

What Chuckie boy just did, is bigger than it means, IMHO

I think Schumer made the right decision. Even if Dems had shut down the government they would have folded in a month anyhow; that’s what happens every time.

I get that Democrats hate what Trump is doing and want to fight. Me too. But the only way to do so right now is to talk about what we want and try to win in two years.

Then why are you whining endlessly? When you are miserable inside, like you are, no amount of  scenery is going to help you.

Go Trump!

Guys....Don't be fooled.  Schumer didn't have the votes.  He caved because he knew he wasn't getting the support.  This was not Schumer being the "bigger man" and stepping up to not shut it down.   He's gonna play it like that, but he would have absolutely let it shut down if he knew he had the dem votes to do so.   He didn't

Actually his logic is that shutting down would give Trump more power and be worse in the long run.  I don't agree with him but it's not about being the "bigger man" like you said.

No.  His logic is that he didn't have the votes.   And if you don't think he is trying to be the "bigger man" you don't understand politics

That's not what he said.  Also anyone that is trying to be the bigger man tells you that they are being the bigger man.  No one in politics does "the right thing" and keeps it quiet.

Ron, Squissy, and Tim are funny.  If a politician doesn't specifically say they're bending them over to fock them up the a$$, those guys won't believe it regardless of how much it hurts.

OMG.

Bro you said Schumer was gonna play it like he's being the bigger man.  I told you he's not playing it like that at all, so your reply is that he's lying? 🤣

That's some 6D chess you think Schumer is trying to play.

Again, and for the last time because I can't keep going back and forth with you on this.  You don't understand how politics work.  That's on you.  Now I am done
