Belichick expected to end up in Atlanta

Recommended Posts

My first thought was how weird it would be to see Bill on the sidelines for this poverty franchise. Then I remembered the Pats were a poverty franchise before he got there.

Well he won't be bringing Mac Jones with him.

As a Bucs fan, I'm not scared by this.  He'll find a QB and go 7-10, 8-9, or 9-8... just like Arthur Smith.

As a Saints fan, I am not either. My first thought was high on his priority list is to hire Peenie to the Hotlanta cheerleaders  💕

for sure he is. The broncos cut wilson and then he can sign for the vet min because he is getting 30 million dollars+ by the broncos either way. Wilson comes in and proves that the broncos are dysfunctional and he has another  2 year contract with atlanta or some other team that needs a bridge.

Hopefully all these jobs fill before Ben Johnson's playoff run is over.

Belichick is interviewing Atlanta. Not the other way around.

I’m not sure that’s true. Yes he is a legendary coach, but he’ll be 72 years old in April. I don’t believe any coach has ever been hired by an nfl team after 70 and those that coached past 70 did not do well (including Belichick himself). I don’t think there’s a lot of clamor to hire any 72 year old coach

2 meetings. I think they have looked past his age at this point. He’s getting a job if he wants one.

Maybe but nobody else has even interviewed him. I think Atlanta has the leverage, not BB. That said, they may well hire him anyway, and possibly they should. Though at best you’re looking at, what, a couple years? No way it’s any more than 3. You’d better have a succession plan day one

As a Bucs fan, I would love that.  Pretty much guarantees that Atlanta does nothing the next 2 years.

72 isn’t what it was when Lombardi was smoking 4 packs a day.

True but see Saban and Carroll. Clearly it’s still time to be put out to pasture in many peoples’ heads

I don’t see many issues with his in game coaching and his D is still formidable. But I do see a lot of these young promoted too fast and hyped up too much geniuses doing the dumbest shitt. Including the guy that just got canned in Atlanta. Arthur Blank is 80 something. 3 years is ok with him.

I do not know.  A team that is not happy with 12-5.  That might be tough.

Man I am not so sure. Wilson was not the problem in denver. he is a capable qb still and atl is a good team. Arthur smith is a terrible coach that is one of those "smarter than you " people who instead of doing the normal thing does something no one ever expected...that results in a 2 yard loss.

I don't get the BB love at all.  He's old, wants complete control, and hasn't done squat since Brady left.   There are far better coaches out there.  Hang it up hoodie.

I think so too. It doesn't seem to me to be a very appealing job. Sam Howell gets sacked more than any other QB because they have no O-Line. Interesting that Vrable and/or Belichick will be left standing when the game of musical chairs ends.
