It has been so much fun to see some Country Music "purists" heads explode over this. 

I like it, although I like a lot of tunes that are labeled "Alt Country" or "Country Rock" that don't fit within traditional Country parameters or guidelines.

And to give it a positive spin, this could bring some new fans into listening to contemporary Country Music, who otherwise might not

Yeah this doesn’t sound too much different than some other “country” songs I’ve heard recently.  It’s not the worst song I’ve ever heard, but there’s no chance it’d be #1 if it wasn’t Beyoncé.

"Official Visualizer" usually refers to a pared down YouTube clip of a song with just lyrics and a few images. She also put out an "Official Video" which I posted in the other Beyonce thread of this song.

Here is the thing for me. I do not like to know who sings a song the first time I hear it. I have a bias for artists I already like.  If I hear a song and like it and it is from an artist I like that is cool to me. I heard Texas Holdem and really could not believe what I was hearing. It was so over the top cheesy and pop. I was cracking up at how bad it was. Then they said it was her new song and I was disappointed because that either shows she is in an echo chamber or just not give a fock about her music. Because that song is straight trash.

It’s one of the best songs of the year. Not sure which album is better, Beyonce or Taylor Swift. Both amazing.

This is exactly how I feel. It is not that I dislike Beyonce. I just did not find this to hit anywhere near the mark for what I think is good. Maybe she should try rap. Or Gospel. I bet she would KILL with the religious crowd if she dropped a remix of Amazing Grace.
