Gas vs hybrid vs electric

You’re pretty good at non sequiturs

Why would you want one? The environment? No, they are bad for the environment. Save money? You won’t without the subsidy. Seem like valid questions.

Haven’t read all this thread, so maybe others feel the same way as me.

For me, the hybrid is just super sensible.  I k know there is still a battery disposal conundrum, but automatically switching between gas and electric and self-charging…just so sensible.  My employer provides my wheels but, if I needed to buy my own, I’d certainly give the hybrids a serious look.

Speak for yourself. Tons of projects in my area using that cash.

Sorry Donald couldn’t figure out how to get it done 😂

Can you name a half dozen of the tons of projects that are using this cash in your area?

Ah okay, see, you are making a huge leap there with your first assertion, and expecting me to go along with it. So maybe next time you need to spell out what wacko right wing beliefs are underpinning your question and then our conversation will go smoother.

I would buy it for the environment primarily, yes.

The hybrid is good for the environment the full electric really isn't.  Maybe that is what caused the confusion?

You are on the left coast.  Of course the money wasn’t going to real Americans.  7 charging stations in 2 years?   That’s good?

There is money going everywhere. Republicans around the country bragging about the projects they brought to their districts and states.

EVs come from the factory with a much larger carbon footprint than a gas vehicle.  The best estimates I've seen say it takes 6-8 years before an EV is on an equal level as a gas powered vehicle re: their carbon footprint.  And that's without the whole what do we do with these batteries when they need replacing thing.  So an EV will get there.......eventually......but short term they're as bad or worse for the environment than any gas powered vehicle.

But you chose not to list them. Come on, there are tons of them. You should be able to name a couple of them.

I don’t have much of a commute so I’ve got gas powered for longer distances. If I had a daily commute I probably would go electric. If you can charge them at your house the whole charging stations thing really is not an issue other than for road trips

This is the perfect setup IMO for multi car households. We have this and we use the EV for almost all trips around town plus my commute.

Took a couple years for this range anxiety to not be an issue. Don’t even think about it now.

Apartment living, very cold temps, houses who only have one car who tow shet or drive all over the place on the weekend I get the reluctance.

If he doesn't, here is a list of projects that Republicans are claiming the credit even though the voted against the bill?

Or Republicans Keep Taking Credit For Local Broadband Projects Funded By Federal Bills They Voted Against

or  MTG Dragged for Bragging About Bill She Actually Voted Against

Must be a pretty good bill since all the people are bragging about the jobs it's creating.

Rep. Jaypal still boasting about human size pooper scoopers, power washers and garbage cans for syringes?

I’m all for power washing the sidewalks. Get after it, I am oddly addicted to power washing all kinds of stuff all around my house 😂

I’m guessing your Congressman and Senator have taken credit for projects in your area. Even if they voted against it.

No tranny, fewer moving parts, regen breaking. Only thing I have done on mine is fixed a light that was letting water in and some software update that didn’t finish. Zero other maintenance 50k miles in.

Need tires soon.

That’s probably fair. I’m taking a long term outlook in terms of the electrical grid being shifted away from non renewables and so forth

Gas and energy prices continue to rise due to Bidens policy.  Not much he can do about it now. This won’t help at the polls.
