Israel hits back at Iran

Of course not. However, “Leveling it” isn’t a real thing and wouldn’t work either even if you tried.

Leveling ME countries has worked so well for us historically.  What could possibly go wrong?

Again, stop misquoting everyone. I never said they leveling Iran was a good idea. I did say that Israel COULD level Iran if they ever had to.

This strike back appear to have been completely symbolic. Neither side wants to go any further.

Yet another victory for Joe Biden. Contradicting what several people have asserted here, both Israel and Iran are taking serious note of his urgings and warnings, particularly Israel. This is the good result of having a President who is respected abroad, unlike the last guy.

After leveling a hospital the Jews are already building houses on the bones of dead babies.

Trump would have been openly laughed at for the umpteenth time.

Thank goodness we have someone other countries respect in the WH.

Not exactly.

Isreal showed Iran that they have the defensive capability to thwart a missile barrage. While impressive, it isn't enough to deter Iran from trying it again. They'll just send more missiles next time.

Showing they also have the offensive capability to strategically strike any target they want has a deterrence effect. It was simultaneously a show of strength and restraint on Isreal's part.

They put Iran on notice that throwing temper tantrums is ineffective and should they think about escalating things, their infrastructure can be destroyed at will.

Both countries did the opposite of what Biden said and it’s a win for Biden. Ok.

No they did exactly what Biden wanted. They didn’t go crazy or do anything to truly escalate.

You can try and avoid giving Joe credit but you know the truth deep down: he deserves the credit.

Yup.  Biden knew all those rockets would get shot down. No one would be asleep at the wheel. Better to be lucky than good.

Your last sentence is quite true of your existence in recent years: you didn’t vote for Biden in 2020, but you were lucky he won anyhow. You’re not voting for Biden in 2024, but hopefully you’ll be lucky again and he will win. The rest of us don’t mind saving your sorry ass with ourselves. But you should be more grateful about it.

Joe Biden is completely symbolic as well.

So if they did the opposite of what Biden told them to do and it worked, you would have to say Biden gave them bad advice. Sounds like a plan, like when George Costanza decided to do the opposite of his first inclinations and things started working out for him.

I don't believe world leaders respect either Biden or Trump in the least as they are both embarrassments.  They do respect and fear the power of the Office of the President and so pay deferrence to the imbecile occupying it.

Again, more fever dream wish casting by Tim.  None of what you say is even REMOTELY true.  That's something you tell yourself so you don't have to face the truth about Biden because your psyche can't handle it.

Ya know, if those effers were serious, they'd target Israel's Desalination plants.

Extremely crucial, not considered a tactical defense worthy asset.

Credit for what?   Biden told Iran "Don`t"   Biden told Israel "don`t"

They both "Did"

Not really. They held back. They didn’t do anything that would truly escalate. That’s the point.

Israel’s strikes made it pretty far into Iranian territory. If they were sending a message that’s cutting it awful close.

Yes. They are. That’s why this whole situation is unnerving. I don’t trust Netanyahu and the Iranians are evil. We’re dealing with two bad actors here who threaten the world’s stability. But so far Biden has done a pretty good job trying to manage it, IMO.

Well, up arming Israel is a good move, I’ll say that. I’m glad that’s happening.

I would have conditioned it more.

I don’t think Israel is going to give much in the way of conditions. They are in a fight for their survival.  Everyone seems to want to downplay that, but they don’t.

Yep. Target every facility that even has a remote chance of being used for nuclear development first. Then blow them back to into the 19th century.

This is a good thing. Undoes everything Obama and Biden let them get away with.

We've been doing that in Ukraine for years.

From CNN 29 minutes ago: The US deployed a THAAD missile system to Israel and troops to operate it, which are now in place in case Iran retaliates.

This might be the true October surprise.  Harris probably feels she has no choice but to support Israel, since looking weak helps Trump.

I'd say Biden, but our POTUS has been out of actual decisions for a long time.  Protect democracy!

The Israeli military has said that it was deliberate in only choosing to target Iranian military facilities, avoiding oil fields and nuclear assets.

The effect of the strikes, a US official told CNN, was to both “deter future attacks and also to degrade the capabilities of Iran being able to conduct those types of activities.”
