Fair point.  However, the J6 "riot" was small potatoes compared to what was done by your side.  Not excusing it, but it's not even on the same scale.

My only beef with J6 is how stark the difference in prosecution is compared to the barely any prosecutions for the leftist rioters and masterminds who did immensely more damage than anything that happened on J6.

I had zero intention of responding to you further tonight but since you actually had a rational post I had to.

In scope, you're totally correct about J6 v. 2020. WAAAAY more damage done in the rioting. Way more people were affected; objectively it was worse in every way but one: the motives, and what they mean.

Summer of Love. The riots should never have happened. They weren't widely supported, the protests were. Fuk people that riot. I won't make excuses for the DA's that aren't prosecuting, they absolutely should. CHOP was ridiculous, defund the police was bonkers, lots of libs looking pretty stupid after defending that. The list goes on. Plenty of people caught up in the emotional tide. 2020 was a tough year for everyone. Summer ended, everyone went home.

J6. Lawful, peaceful protest until it wasn't. Lots of people thinking the election was... let's say unfair. Suits and court cases follow. Trump loses them all. More suits and court cases, among other measures, are undertaken, and ultimately none go Trump’s way. 

But the unfair election belief lives on. As does Trump persecution opinion. A litany of legal entanglements follow, but the election and persecution belief never go away: America is disappearing before our eyes. Everything is corrupt, the whole filthy system; but THIS guy can be trusted to work in our best interests. 

To me, J6 represents the tipping point between the rule of American institutions and a desire to burn them down. It is subversion of the system by one spectacularly bad actor and it's beyond obvious. If you have a different opinion, I'm fine with that. We can respectfully disagree. 

But do not believe that I will stand by quietly while institutions that I have profound trust in are destroyed in the name of a man I could never trust by people I still mostly respect.

Maybe because the charges were nonsense and a waste of money to process. The cops were out of control and in virtually all cases here were declaring riots when none were occurring. A repeated situation was an illegally placed fence in front of a courthouse, which was temporary and every time the crowd began to push it over they declared a riot. That’s it. Another time a cop assaulted a protestor holding a phone, knocking the phone out of his hand and it fell against the wall of the building. Riot declared. Then of course there were the illegal federal kidnappings of people from the street. You were lied to, and weren’t smart enough to evaluate what you were told.
