I’m not sure it’s even gonna matter at this point. 2035 targets we won’t meet aren’t any better than 2050 targets we won’t meet, and anyway we might be past the point of reversing all but plague level catastrophe, ie half the planet or more.

I think we’re in a race against time for cheap desalinization which I actually think may be coming in time but we’ll see. Otherwise the southwest is gonna dry up like a sponge in the sun and holy crap when it does. 
 

on the other side of our country Florida’s real estate on both sides of the peninsula are going to become uninhabitable whether by storm, incursion or lack of insurance. It’s already happening. I think trump watching mar a lago disappear into the ocean would be as good as any jail time.

TL;dr -- using worst case model, both a net-zero US or entire globe by 2050 have negligible impact on temperatures.
