So, we've got Russian nuclear warships docking in Cuba this week. In 1962, this was a big deal and the US and USSR were on the brink of nuclear war over it. But in 2024, we have a president and media that doesn't seem to care.

A group of Russian naval ships, including a nuclear-powered submarine, will visit Cuba next week as part of “historically friendly relations,” Cuba’s government said Thursday.

The Russian “frigate Gorshkov, the nuclear-powered submarine Kazan, the fleet oil tanker Pashin, and the rescue tug Nikolai Chiker” will visit the port of Havana between June 12 and 17, according to the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces in a statement published by the Foreign Ministry.

Cuba says none of the ships carry nuclear weapons and insists their stopover does not represent a threat to the region.

Russia could have a nuclear subbed park off the coast of Maryland right now for all we know.

Yesterday I say an account like that show a video of planes flying along the beach.  They claimed they were doing military exercises in preparation for something.  In reality it was a video from the air show a few weeks earlier.

There are so many fear mongering accounts on social media.

I am a bit surprised Cuba has maintained its relationship with Russia.  I fail to see that the average person in Cuba has benefitted from that relationship as opposed to the benefits they would get with a democracy and a productive relationship with the U.S.
