So a person tried to assassinate Trump

Recommended Posts

There was more context to it as far as vantage points from the roof to the podium and what not and that it also tied into the conversation with local cops and what they were asked to cover (again common practice).

Securing a building by just being inside it. That’s not common practice. I guess the concept of “post guards outside” is lost on some. Some people should stick to what they know. Salem I’m at at think locking doors isn’t necessary to secure a location.

can you show me one position I have that is pandering to MAGA

I'm not sure you understand the requirements for being a centrist on this board.  I can help you.

1) You must strongly dislike Trump.

2) Don't argue with or call out other centrists or liberals.  Remember, your focus needs to be on your dislike for Trump and the people you suspect will vote for him.

3) Throw out the occasional CYA of "both sides do it."

It's pretty easy.

You also think a rock disengages a lock on a door even when it is removed so you shouldn't be commenting, or perhaps should "stick to what you know"

And either way- I said that they made the call to have a police presence inside the building after inspecting and clearing the building based off location and everything. Did they err? Yes obviously because something happened. Was that error on the secret service end, or the local police end, or in the communication between the two organizations- that is to be determined yet.

Lastly- there were still people outside the building. Nice try

No.  It’s determined. SS is responsible for the security. End of story.  The buck stops there.  And they are lying.

We will see what the investigation brings as more of this unfolds.

SS does do security but will also work with local officials and there was a breakdown there in this instance.

Right, there's really no scenario in which this Director can keep her job. A massive failure on every level.

The righties: the left's rhetoric is causing people to want to murder trump.

The lefties: the guy was a republican, therefore it is not rhetoric that caused him to want to murder trump.  And the right uses rhetoric too.

Also righties: But the right’s rhetoric is slightly less bad!

I’m not a lefty, but yes your second paragraph could be accurate if it is proven he was actually a Republican.  If he was so gullible as to fall for anti-Trump rhetoric from the MSM, then IMO he would most likely fall in line with the MSM and vote Dem.  Hating Trump but otherwise voting Republican isn’t a terribly common stance, so the most likely scenario would be that he formed those opinions on his own and wasn’t really influenced by rhetoric from the MSM.

I think RealTim may be saying something similar but I am consistent in believing that rhetoric from the MSM and the politicians themselves isn’t really what’s contributing to attacks that have happened on either side.  I do think “rhetoric” from places like social media could have played a role in this as well as other past incidents, but IMO the MSM and politicians “lowering the temperature” isn’t really going to “lower the temperature” of the crazy sh1t people say on social media.

Speaking of, I’m still shocked they haven’t discovered any of Crooks’ social media.

@nobody, are you going to apologize for lying by saying I thought the Trump yard signs were his?

To confirm, you didn’t have a problem with Biden’s “bullseye” comment, correct?

Why should he, I don't recall @Herbivore having an issue with it.  Weird that he did when Palin said it.  I mean, I'm guessing he did because he apparently remembers it very clearly.  I wonder why I don't recall any outrage from him when Biden made his comment?  🤔

WAIT, I got it.  It's because Palin said "crosshairs", not "bullseye".  What was I thinking.  My bad.

I can’t speak for @Herbivore, but I didn’t have a problem with it.

But anyone complaining about Biden saying “bullseye” should have also complained about Palin.

I would agree that Biden bringing that up and saying it was different was dumb.

I rarely have outrage, but I don't think politicians should use that kind of language ever. Its irresponsible. It was easy for me to remember when Gabby was shot and why. It was also very easy to bring up when our Geek righties cried about rhetoric. I suspect you buried previous R rhetoric and are now outraged about D rhetoric. So, yes, your bad.

No offense, but your dr friend has no clue about the wound.

No offense taken, but he has some clue, he knows what ears are, what they are made of, cartiledge, skin and blood vessels, and he saw pictures of the wound.  Clearly he did not examine the wound, but still, he has some idea.  I imagine he might argue he has a very good idea, better certainly than those who diagnose Biden based on his walk and speech and I am staisfied those diagnosis are more or less sound.

Trump is allowed to lie and people shouldn't call him on it. This is what happens when you rip at institutions.

To me it's insane just how easily he gets away with it over obvious and easily able to be checked information. It's the George from Seinfeld on steroids, "It's not a lie, if you believe it"...except he just repeats it so much his followers believe it.

Let's have a discussion later on how much China is PAYING us on import tariffs.  :(

Take a step back, forget about your politics for a second, try to be a human being.

I never said he was not in mortal danger.

I do not believe in God.

I was not complaining, I was merely noting and encouraging him to not ruin his momentum by overselling.  Sadly, the real estated guy cannot help Puffing, he cannot help overselling, it is at his core who he is.

If we ever meet you are most welcome to remind me, to my face, that you have posited I am human garbage.

This from the guy that wore two masks like Fauci told him to.

Seriously, what is wrong with you?  Take a break from being a ass, you'll feel better.

I only wore a mask when I was made to and it was only ever one mask.  I hated wearing them.

I never even got the vaccine.  I share similar views as you on the whole COVID debacle, so knock it off.

Oh, so do you have experience of someone attempting to kill you by putting a bullet in your head but it just grazed you?

Are you going to keep moving the goal posts?  I said the experience was a big deal and would be traumatic.  A small wound to the outer ear is very minor, regardless if it's from a bullet or anything else.

Democrats pretty much bragged about registering Republican to vote for somebody other than Trump in the primaries. Haley had massive support from Democrats in the primaries, hilarious, considering they would have never voted for her in the general. But, whatever...

Making some sweeping judgement based on political registration is absurd. Most non-retards know this. Dude tried to murder Trump, that's what we know.

I am not surprised this happened considering the vitriol that has come from the left for the last 3 years. The left, from top to bottom, has declared Trump a threat to democracy, which is disgusting and absurd. What did they think would end up happening?

Those types of things can motivate the nutjobs though.  That's why it's important they are more careful with what they say.  Far too many people are mentally unstable and will take ads like that as marching orders.  It's why people blame Trump for the Capitol riot.
